OCSTrainingOnline Training for All OCS Blended Learning Classroom Partner Teachers
OCS Blended Learning

The OCS Blended Learning team has updated the online training piece and is now ready for our OCS Blended Learning partner teachers! Here is the link to the training:  http://www.ncvps.org/index.php/courses/ocs-blended/

This page has awesome information for all stakeholders involved in the OCS Blended Learning program!  Please scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the TRAINING link for classroom OCS teachers.  It would be great if all teachers completed this training prior to August 27, 2012.  Even if teachers have partnered with NCVPS before in the OCS Blended Learning program, we ask all teachers to complete this training as we have added three new pieces!  There is also a new survey for teachers to complete.

Please email Michelle Lourcey (michelle.lourcey@ncpublicschools.gov) with any questions!

RegSysRegistration System Updates

Schools and districts will see the following changes in the registration system over the next week:

Student Email Verification

Advisors must use authentic emails for students when registering.

Optional Student Data

Schools will be able to add more optional student information on the enrollment screen.  You will be able to identify students as OCS, LEP or ESL.  This data will help NCVPS support student needs.

Blended Course Information

Registration in OCS blended courses now prompt schools for more face-to-face (F2F) teacher information.  This includes requiring email, phone, and training info for the first F2F blended teacher.  Data entry for a second F2F teacher will be optional.

Note:  If you are registering a public school student, leave the "Non-public" field blank.  For a quick guide through the process, click here.

Mini Grade Report

There will be a new "mini" grade report.  When a school or district clicks the "Reports" tab, there will be two buttons to click to retrieve grades.  One is labeled "Full" and will give the standard version of the grade report with all the columns of data that the ELA/ELC has been used to.  However, there will also be a "Mini" button that will give the ELA/ELC a more streamlined report containing only the following datapoints:

  • Student's name and ID
  • Course Name, Code and Semester
  • School and District name
  • Teacher name, email, VTIN, gender and ethnicity
  • And finally, the grade report data
Look for additional information on this roll out next week.
