EFAST FAQ's

1. Do I have to sign my Form 5500 electronically?

Yes. Beginning with the 2009 plan year, the Department of Labor (DOL) is no longer accepting paper 5500's. The form must be submitted and signed electronically through the DOL's EFAST website.

2. What if I forget my DOL credentials from 2009?

You can easily obtain your DOL Username and PIN by visiting the EFAST website at www.efast.dol.gov. Click here for step-by-step instructions on obtaining your credentials.

3. Can Trinity sign my Form 5500 for me?

Yes. Beginning with the 2010 plan year, Trinity can electronically sign your filing for you for a fee. You will need to complete an authorization form, as well as sign a paper copy of the form for our records. Please contact your Relationship Manager at Trinity Pension Consultants at 330.668.3747 if you would like more information on this service.

4. Who must sign the filing? Does it need to be a plan trustee?

The authorized signer does not necessarily have to be a plan trustee. Anyone who has been appointed by the trustee as a signer for the form can sign. Only one person needs to sign the filing.

5. I have more than one plan. Can I use the same DOL credentials to sign each of my filings?

Yes. You may sign multiple forms with the same credentials.
