As you may recall from 2009, all qualified plans are now required to file the annual Form 5500 electronically through the Department of Labor's EFAST2 processing system. Paper filings are no longer accepted.
Everyone who signs a Form 5500, whether a plan sponsor or plan trustee, must obtain DOL signing credentials. These credentials allow you to electronically sign your Form 5500 and are obtained by registering online at the DOL's website, www.efast.dol.gov. An e-mail address is required to register.
