VOLUME 3, ISSUE 29                                                            April 5, 2012

From Our Superintendent, Merida Brooks

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:5-6

The greatest story ever told is a reality in the hearts and minds of our faculty, staff and students here at Westminster Christian Academy.  It is hard to imagine a Father in heaven who loves us SO much that He would send His one and only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our salvation.  If there had been another way, surely He would have taken it, but His goal was redemption for the people He loves and restoration of a personal relationship with Him.

The red thread of redemption was woven through the classrooms and hearts of our students this week on all three of our campuses as we celebrated the life, death and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ!

Please enjoy the clips and slideshows from programs and Easter Walks diligently prepared for by our students, faculty and parents.

Happy Easter!  He is risen!  What a glorious thought!

His!

Bill Thompson Receives Award
2012 Flo McClelland Service Award

Congratulations to Opelousas Elementary Principal, Bill Thompson on receiving the Flo McClelland Service Award at the 2012 WCA Annual Employee Appreciation Picnic.

The Flo McClelland Service Award was established by WCA Founder, Valerie Rutland.  The award is named after cherished WCA faculty member, Flo McClelland who embodied the characteristics of all award winners.

Recipients of the Flo McClelland Service Award can be a staff or faculty member who goes above and beyond the call of duty.  The recipient should be someone who stands out and should be lifted up as an example.  He/she should also be outstanding to the students and/or the School in advancing the institution for the cause of Christian education.  The recipient's energy and dedication must be evident as one who reflects love and devotion for the students and Westminster Christian Academy.  Finally, the recipient must prove themselves in the trenches over time.

Congratulations again, Mr. Thompson!  You are most deserving of this honor.
