From Our Superintendent, Merida Brooks For Your lovingkindness is great above the heavens, and Your truth reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and Your glory above all the earth. Psalm 108:4
Oh, the joy and blessing of being in the Family of God and of being a part of the WCA Family as well. Those of us who have the privilege of walking through these doors every single day to witness the hand of God at work, continue to marvel at His goodness in allowing us to do so. Let's glimpse into the hearts and minds of these very ones.
All of our employees were asked the questions, "What do you wish everyone knew about WCA?" and "What would you suggest as a WCA tagline?" The responses were compiled and then reconsidered by the total group. Below are given the top responses.
Question 1:
- "We are not exceptional people; we just serve a God Who is!
- "We love the children at our school."
- "We desire to see our students grow in Christ. We care for them."
- "We love children enough to hold them accountable and to guide them to God's truth."
- "We are not perfect, but we do our best unto the Lord to do the job He has called us to do."
- "Our teaching is from a Biblical worldview."
- "God is the Head of WCA - It is all about Him."
Taglines:
- Standing on Truth to teach Truth
- Education for Transformation
- Making every day Count
- WCA ~ Where Learning is Contagious and Faith is Transforming!
- For Today, for Life, for Eternity
- The Difference is Worth the Distance

- Your Children ~ a Priceless Investment!
With re-enrollment in the air, it is good to peek into the minds of those "on the inside" to see what they think about Westminster. I pray you are blessed to hear what is in their hearts.
Re-enrollment numbers are record breaking for this point in the process! 90% of our students are re-enrolled with only 104 students not yet having completed the process. AND, we already have 67 applications from potential students waiting to be tested. Father continues to "confirm the work of our hands" and the intent of families to provide a solid academic, character building, Christ-centered education for their children. It is an honor to partner with you in this great eternal work! Thank you for once again walking with us as we strive to walk with Christ.
His!
Merida Brooks

Senior Luncheon
Ready. Aim. Eat!
Camouflauge, Marsh land scenery, a four wheeler and a camo pup tent were the backdrops for this month's senior luncheon. They enjoyed jambalya and etoufee. While their years here at WCA may be coming to a close, our prayer is that the seeds planted into the lives of these young adults will produce good fruit and a rich harvest for our Father. Thank you, Senior parents. |

Clay Shoot 2012 Parents' Club was blessed with a nice turnout for the 4th Annual Sporting Clay Challenge held at GOL on February 8, 2012. Despite the weather, we had 21 teams come out to support WCA! The event raised almost $14,000 that Parents' Club will use to purchase and install a water fountain at the Calvary campus and new playground equipment at the Opelousas preschool.
Parents' Club would like to thank Mr. Kenny Marks and his family, of the Opelousas campus, for their tremendous support. Mr. Marks served as the event Chairman this year and really helped to introduce this event to many new supporters. A special thank you Flo-Quip who graciously stepped up and acted as the food sponsor -- the gumbo was incredible!
Additionally, WCA and the Parents' Club would like to thank the following sponsors, donors and supporters. We couldn't have done it without them!

Faculty on the Road ACSI Convention Galveston, TX On February 2nd and 3rd, nine WCA faculty members travelled to Galveston for the annual Association of Christian Schools Conference. Attendees had the opportunity to re-tool and refresh by participating in general assemblies, seminars on specific learning topics and displays by vendors. Wonderful fellowship also marked this coming together of Christian educators. We are very proud of WCA teachers, who made presentations at the conference. Stephanie Salling on "Fully-orbed Technology in the Classroom," and Susan Sonbuchner on "The Smartboard in the Classroom." We love what one participant had to say about Stephanie's presentation; 'Wow...awesome and eye-opening presentation great ideas and content. Best seminar I attended hands-down!"
