From Our Superintendent, Merida Brooks

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39Surely it is You who love the people; all the holy ones are in your hand. At Your feet they all bow down, and from You receive instruction. Deuteronomy 33:3
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear Him. Psalm 103:11 During this week as we celebrate love, let us not fail to celebrate the LOVE our Father God has lavished on us!

Junior Ring Ceremony
Class of 2013...A New Chapter Begins
Today the WCA Class of 2013 began the transition into their Senior year with the traditional Junior Ring Ceremony. Parents, family and friends were on hand to witness this 'rite of passage'. As Mrs Baker suggested, it has been a short time since these young adults were little ones and how proud we are of the men and women they are growing up to be. Congratulations Class of 2013!

Nighty Night...
Opelousas & Lafayette Campuses
Preschool students on both the Lafayette and Opelousas Campuses learned what it means to hibernate and which animals hibernate. After studying about hibernation students participate in Hibernation Day. What better way to celebrate Hibernation Day, than to wear your pajamas to school? On the Lafayette Campus, Preschool students not only wore their pajamas to school, but they went on a bear hunt in a make believe bear den and ended their trip with trail mix and hot coco. In the bear den Mrs. Montgomery sang songs with them and Grammy Bear (Ms. Sybil Toussaint) read them a story. Click the photo slideshow to the right to view pictures from this fun preschool tradition!

Walk for Life 2012 Baton Rouge, LA On Saturday, January 21, 2012, WCA alumni Aaron Shamp, the WCA Lewis family and others traveled to BR for the annual Walk for Life. The mission? Unite the pro-life people of Louisiana, across all denominational lines, to take a stand for life in our State's Capital, and mobilize them with resources to go make a difference in their community. We believe the Louisiana Life March can lead towards an abortion-free Louisiana. For more information, go to www.prolifelouisiana.org/lalifemarch. |
