One of the highlights of Homecoming Week was an Alumni Volleyball Match. Thirteen players from the graduating classes of 1992 thru 2010 turned out to play each other. Some of these former players are now WCA parents! These ladies have NOT lost their competitive spirit and are still very talented athletes. It was a fun night and they played rigorous volleyball. What a blessing to have them return. We hope to have a rematch with even more players next year. WE CAN'T WAIT! You do not want to miss it.

Opelousas Preschool "Johnny Appleseed Day"
Johnny Appleseed Day was recently celebrated at the Opelousas Preschool Campus. Our students came dressed as Johnny, wearing their overalls or jeans, carrying their Bible, apple seeds, and wearing pots for hats. We sorted apples by colors, tried apple rolling, taste-tested apple juice, pies, and apple butter. Kindergarten even made their own applesauce! Students were amazed that the largest apples did not necessarily weigh the most.

Lafayette 5th and 6th Grade Chapel - The Calling of God
Ms. Bonner spoke to the 5th and 6th grade students about the calling that God has for each one of them. He calls each of them to join His family and to reveal Him to others. The beauty behind it is that He has equipped them with everything they need to accomplish this task. He even gave them the kinds of clothes to wear to fight off satan* and his temptations, the Full Armor of God.
*satan does not deserve a capital letter
The Full Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10)
Belt of Truth - We know when we are tempted to lie, but we get to choose the truth!
Breastplate of Righteousness - Doing what is right at all times, in every situation.
Feet Ready to Give Good News - Share what is good - words for encouragement and lifting others up not tearing down or gossiping.
Shield of Faith - Believe in God's power to help in all situations.
Helmet of Salvation - Get out of the lost state. Accept the Lord as your Savior.
Sword of the Spirit - Know God's Word - study it, read it and live it.
Prayer - Talk to the Father daily. He is ALWAYS ready to listen.
Stand up against the devil's temptations. You can do what is right. It is your choice!
