From Our Superintendent, Merida Brooks
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He Who has made us and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise
Give thanks to Him; bless His name.
For the Lord He is good; His loving kindness is everlasting,
and His faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 100
My heart overflows as I look back upon the incredible nature of this Homecoming Week. It is when the serious scholarship of a college prep school and the wonderful creativity and incredible joy of God in His people collide into a true adventure of the out-of-the-ordinary! We have had sooooo much fun, much of which you can see for yourself in this edition of the Sader News! Truly, we have served Him with gladness this week as we have joyfully witnessed our students, your children, delight in one another and the unique opportunities presented by this special week.
The "joyfully" used in this Psalm means to come literally with a "stridulous sound." In other words it means a loud "EEEEEEEE!" It is joy not containable! We have had many "EEEEEEEE" moments not only this week, but also in the first five weeks of this most blessed school year. We ARE shouting for joy and gladness with thanksgiving for the loving kindness and faithfulness bestowed upon this little Christian school in the heart of Acadiana. May we never cease to praise Him and remember it IS He Who has made us and NOT "we ourselves!"
To Him alone be the glory

Crusader Football
What a difference a week makes. After suffering a heartbreaking loss to Loreauville in the third game of the season, the Crusader footballers came roaring back in week 4 with a 46-0 shutout of False River Academy to open district play. Eleven different running backs and quarterbacks ran the ball for WCA in the win, and the 'Sader passing game finished 7 of 8. The defense played their best game to this point, holding FRA to just 31 total yards.
This week the 'Saders take on Point Coupee-Central for Homecoming Friday night at 7 p.m. Let's pack the house and wear blue to support your favorite team. |
