I am pleased to inform you that at the October 26, 2011 meeting of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce (MPCC) Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee recommended a slate of candidates to fill four vacating seats, and the following nominees were approved for election to the Board:

• Shawn Adams, Principal, Monterey Signs
• Matthew Hohman, Vice President Financial Services, Monterey Credit Union
• Barry Kilzer, Principal, Kilzer Wealth Management
• Mitchell Matthews, Community Liaison, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula - Hospice of the Central Coast

The elected candidates will each serve a two (2) year term effective January 1, 2012 extending through December 31, 2015.

In conformance with the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, as a member in good standing, you have the right to petition for one of the four vacant board seats. If you are interested in petitioning for one of the four seats, you must submit your letter of intent along with a petition bearing the original signatures of at least 20 voting members of the Chamber. Such petition shall be filed with the Nominating Committee within ten (10) days after notice has been given of the names of those nominated.

If no petition is filed within the designated period above, the nominations shall be closed and the nominated slate of candidates shall be declared elected by the Board of Directors at its December 13, 2011 meeting. If a legal petition shall present additional candidates, the names of all candidates shall be arranged on a ballot in alphabetical order and delivered by email to all voting members (unless delivery by U.S. Mail is necessary). Instructions will be to vote for the number of candidate vacancies.  Ballots shall be counted and the candidates receiving the greatest number of votes shall be announced to the Board at its December 13, 2011 meeting and shall be deemed elected.
