| Letter From The President |
Greetings!
Global warming? I beg to differ.
Can you believe the snow this year? This February has been one for the record books. The Blizzard of 2011 has come and gone and left behind heaps of fluffy white snow. Although good to look at, too much can be a nuisance. This month I want to focus on some steps we can all take to avoid the pitfalls of winter weather in Michigan.

Tips and Resources For Winter Weather
|
Click on the links below for some great information on dealing with some of winter's most troublesome topics:
Ice Dams- Icicles hanging along the eaves of your house may look beautiful, but they spell trouble.
Space Heaters- In the winter, more home fires are started by heating equipment than any other cause. Portable and electric space heaters are the most dangerous.
Shoveling- It happens every winter in the Midwest: Snow falls, usually leaving piles of the stuff to clear from your sidewalks and driveway. Consider the following before you grab your shovel after a major snowfall.
Driving in Hazardous Conditions- Make sure your vehicle is properly equipped, slow down, leave plenty of room between you and other vehicles, anticipate problems instead of reacting to them and learn to use your vehicle's controls.
It's important to be safe in the cold weather. Please take some time to make sure you and your family are prepared for Michigan's next major snow fall. It may be right around the corner.

Community Association Institute Annual Conference
|

The following invitation comes to us from the conference committee of the Community Association Institute (CAI). Please let your manager know of your interest so we can plan car pooling services.
Don't miss Community Associations Institute - Michigan Chapter's 2011 Annual Conference & Expo on March 11th. The event will be held in the Diamond Center at Rock Financial Showplace in Novi. This is your opportunity to attend many educational sessions and seminars. The exhibit hall will be full of vendors displaying their services and willing to answer your questions. It's a great opportunity to keep up-to-date with the latest issues and services that affect your community.
On top of all that, they will have coffee, continental breakfast, a three-course gourmet lunch, and cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. This year, the theme is "Academy Awards - Living in an Award Winning Community," which should add a fun atmosphere to this productive and informative event.
If you are an association board member or manager, you should be there! Sign up here or call toll free 877-588-5010.

The Next Step- Property Management on the Internet. |
The new year has brought about many exciting changes in our company. Most notable is the implementation of an online management system. We are working dilegently to get all of our associations up and running on our new Online Management Portal.
What does this mean for you, as a homeowner and a volunteer board member? Check out this presentation.
We will be adding seminar dates in the future to have board members come into the office and learn first hand how the new system can help them in their day to day duties. Some highlights of the new program include:
- 24/7- 365 access to all of your Association's information via a dedicated online website.
- Real time updates on all work being done in your association; work orders, modification requests, violations, etc.
- Up to date financial statements
- AND MORE
Feel free to ask your manager for more details. We are excited to put this new system into motion and hope you are too. Check our Seminar Page for an upcoming date to attend a workshop.
