Greetings!
All one would have to do is walk outside their unit to admire the panoramic color show displayed on the community trees and flick off the box elder bugs from the south side of their building to know that is the remarkable month of October.
Fall brings about a flurry of activity in our office as managers scramble to finish up the last big projects of the season, board treasurers begin hashing out budgets for the new year and all of our snow birds begin preparing for the trip South. It's a wonderful time of year for Cummings and we look forward to meeting all of these challenges every year. |

It's a Breast Thing |
 Representatives from Cummings Property Management attended the October 6th "It's a Breast Thing" event in Old Town Lansing in celebration of Breast Cancer Month. Our corporate entry paled in the face of the other corporate entries but watch us in 2011! Any Co-owner who is a survivor of breast cancer is invited to partner with us in 2011 as we decorate our entry for judging and to spend an evening in Lansing to learn the latest trends in detection, treatment, and triumph over this disease.

Fundraising for Food Bank of Eastern Michigan
|
 Food Bank contributions have been outstandingly generous. Over $2,835 has been collected so far this fall. This will provide over $39,000 of food supplies for your neighbors in need. Together, we can do so much good.
To date we have collected contributions from 13 of our communities. We are looking forward to your continuing generosity. Be sure to look for more information on how you too can help in your annual meeting notices.

Community Outreach

We have aligned with the Genesee Intermediate School District through their transition center to provide job skill training opportunities for their students. Your mass mailings and newsletter may now be folded and prepared for distribution by a student training for a future job.
Another partnership we have developed this fall is with Mott Middle High School/Early College. We have a student intern working on Fridays and he has bedazzled us with his spreadsheet skills. We hope your manager benefits from his skillful representation of past, current and future budgets.

The Seminars Keep On Rolling

 Our two Budget Workshops held on October 6th and 14th were filled to capacity. We learned as much as our attendees on the latest budgeting and marketing ideas that great communities use to meet their maintenance and saving needs.
