REALLY memorable FIRST fish...
|
Two of our younger fishermen have had memorable "firsts" recently. On the left is ten year old Sam Hibschman from Carmel, IN. He caught his first muskie ever on his first day of fishing at Duck Bay. He started his muskie fishing career with this beautiful 48 inch muskie. On the right is twelve year old Danny Moore from Naperville, IL. Until his trip to Duck Bay he had never caught a northern pike, and is pictured here with his first northern ever - 36 inches!

Pictured at left is Zach Trautman (Lake Benton, MN). This is his first muskie - 43 inches. It was caught while smallmouth bass fishing on a wiggle wart bass lure!
And his brother Alex almost caught his first muskie as well. Here is the way guide Chris tells the story: Zach and his brother Alex were fishing for trophy smallmouth bass. Alex was casting a spinnerbait onto a shallow reef that topped out at 2 feet deep. On his 4th cast to the reef, a monster muskie came up from the depths to grab his spinnerbait, but unfortunately took so much of it that it went passed the leader and bit off his line. In a mere heartbeat the big fish was gone leaving Alex with the memory of the monster fish that got away!
