Meet guide Chris Manley...

Chris Manley
Hello, my name is Chris Manley.  I live in Kenora, Ontario at the north end of Lake of the Woods.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba with an emphasis on zoology and geomorphology.  My hobbies include anything outdoors - fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming and camping;  in winter, ice-fishing, cross country skiing and snow shoeing.  I have a beautiful girlfriend Jill and a spoiled rotten dog named Churchill.

My first job at a fishing lodge was as a dockhand and guide-trainee.  This was my first real introduction to muskie fishing.  I have now been a professional fishing guide in Northwestern Ontario for 20 years. There are many positive aspects to being a fishing guide at Duck Bay Lodge.  My "office" views are of the clear waters and rugged forests of the Canadian Shield, where moose, bear and wolves are seen in their natural habitat.

Some of my most rewarding guiding experiences include watching a young child catch their first big fish, the anticipation and enjoyment that a family or group of friends have when eating a traditional walleye shorelunch that I have just prepared for them or watching a seasoned angler's excitement/panic at hooking into a 50 inch musky.  I think the most rewarding part of guiding is knowing that you had a part in creating those memories that will last a lifetime. I look forward to seeing you here at Duck Bay Lodge and remember... THINK BIG!
