We're so excited for the season to get underway!  Most of the faces at Duck Bay will be very familiar to you.  Dave and Sheree.  Guides Bryan, George and Dan.  And AnaSara is back for her third year.  The three new people joining our team to help take care of you are Alrika, Vanessa and guide Kyle.  Read on to find out a bit about each of them.

As soon as university exams were over, AnaSara and Alrika left for a three week trip to China.  They started out in Beijing and plan to visit Shanghai, some coastal cities, the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City.  Here is a recent photo of them at the Summer Palace in Beijing.

 

They are both fluent in a number of languages.  AnaSara speaks Spanish, German and French.  Alrika speaks Spanish, conversational German and is studying Japanese and Mandarin.

  

Vanessa is a student at University of Winnipeg and is passionate about the outdoors.  She is a canoe and kayak instructor, a past member of the Manitoba provincial kayak team and an avid cross-country and downhill skier.  She loves the great outdoors so much that she is considering a career in Natural Resources.

  

When she applied to work at Duck Bay, one thing that really caught our attention was when she said that she did not mind working in any type of weather - rain or shine, wind or calm.  Because there certainly are those days when the weather can change pretty quickly.  And we surely work in all of these conditions!  

Kyle describes himself as an extremely avid fisherman.  Although he loves fishing for all species, he has been targeting muskie for over 10 years.  He makes his own baits and custom rods as well.

  

For most of the year, Kyle is a biology teacher and active firefighter.  He joins us at Duck Bay to spend his summer doing something he is good at and loves.  Kyle comes with an enormous amount of credentials.  Water and ice water rescue, defibrillator certified, CPR, first-aid, and all required Coast Guard certifications.  You are sure to enjoy his fun-loving and outgoing personality!
