This announcement affects our local Hartford Menasha Packaging facility indirectly. The acquisition grows Menasha's capability for packout and fulfillment and gives them a footprint in Chicago. The Hartford Plant will potentially provide corrugate to some of the Strive packout facilities and/or could be involved in projects with existing Strive customers. The acquisition is a very nice complement to their existing business. ***********************

NEENAH - Menasha Packaging Co.'s latest acquisition will help it expand its store promotional display business. The Neenah-based and largest subsidiary of Menasha Corp. announced Tuesday it has acquired The Strive Group of Chicago. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. "The acquisition of Strive will enhance our merchandising supply chain model and strengthen our geographic coverage," Mike Waite, president of Menasha Packaging, said in a statement. "Customers are increasingly turning to companies that can manage their entire merchandising process and the addition of Strive to Menasha Packaging will improve our offerings and strengthen our competitive position." The acquisition will make Menasha Packaging the largest independent in-store promotional solutions provider to retailers in the U.S., the company said. Jim Kotek, president and CEO of Menasha Corp. said the deal broadens the company's ability to provide more products and services. Menasha Packaging and Strive focus on the food, household and personal care markets. Both also offer design, manufacturing, fulfillment and logistics services. Strive operates a corrugated products manufacturing facility. It also has eight fulfillment operations, including six within its customers' distribution centers, and four design/sales centers across the country. Menasha Packaging Co. has more than 1,800 employees nationally. |
