I've been told this is the first geocaching event in Hartford.  I don't know the total number that will be hidden, but approximately a dozen are hidden in the Dodge Industrial Park thanks to the permission of many of our local businesses.

Come and celebrate 10 years of geocaching on 10/10/10. Have an ice cream cone on the Jahn Family, share some stories, and search out a bunch of new caches in the Hartford area.

Time: 12:10 PM - ? (sorry folks....it's a Sunday...can't do 10:10)
Location: Mickey's Frozen Custard (675 Grand Avenue), Hartford
Mickey's is an old-fashioned drive-in and there is no inside seating, so come prepared for the weather. Your first scoop is on us!
We'll have a drawing for door prizes about 12:45 and then release everyone to search for the caches.
Hope to see you there!

Getting Started with Geocaching

Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache.
