HARTFORD PUBLIC LIBRARY - PRESS RELEASE - JACK RUSSELL MEMORIAL LIBRARY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- JUNE 29, 2010
THE HARTFORD PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD RECEIVED NOTIFICATION ON JUNE 28 THAT THE JACK RUSSELL MEMORIAL LIBRARY PROJECT HAS RECEIVED TWO CONSTRUCTION GRANTS FOR ENERGY EFFICIENT DESIGN.
KEITH SWARTZ, SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE ENERGY CENTER OF WISCONSIN ANNOUNCED THAT WISCONSIN PUBLIC POWER INCORPORATED (WPPI) HAS AWARDED A $31,026 INCENTIVE GRANT FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY SAVINGS IN THE NEW LIBRARY. SPECIFIC AREAS MENTIONED FOR RECEIVING THE GRANT WERE ROOF AND WALL INSULATION, WINDOWS AND WINDOW OVERHANGS, INTERTIOR LIGHTING AND THE UNIQUE HVAC SYSTEM WHICH USES RADIENT HEATING AND COOLING.
ZACH OBERT FROM THE FOCUS ON ENERGY'S NEW CONTRUCTION PROGRAM ANNOUNCED THAT THE LIBRARY WILL RECEIVE AN IMPLEMENTATION GRANT FOR $11,794 SPECIFICALLY FOR THE NATURAL GAS EFFICIENCY PLANNED INTO THE NEW FACILITY. LIBRARY BOARD PRESIDENT DOROTHY ALGIERS WAS PLEASED TO RECEIVE THE NEWS REGARDING THESE TWO GRANTS, AND INDICATED THAT HAVING AN ENERGY EFFICIENT BUILDING WAS ONE OF THE PRIMARY GOALS SET BY THE LIBRARY BOARD DURING ITS PLANNING AND DESIGN WORK WITH MICHAEL BAHR OF THE PLUNKETT RAYSICH ARCHITECTURAL FIRM.
WORK ON THE NEW LIBRARY BUILDING WILL BEGIN IN MID-JULY WITH SITE EXCAVATION AND GRADING, UTILITY INSTALLATION, PARKING LOT LAYOUT AND PRELIMINARY LANDSCAPING WORK. J.P. CULLEN AND SONS OF BROOKFIELD IS SERVING AS THE PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE LIBRARY. |
