Quote of the Month! |
Some of the biggest challenges in relationships come from the fact that most people enter a relationship in order to get something: They're trying to find someone who's going to make them feel good. In reality, the only way a relationship will last is if you see your relationship as a place that you go to give, and not a place you go to take.

What Others Have to Say About eWomen Network |
eWomen events are always an adventure. You never know who you will meet or when you might discover a kindred spirit.
Smaller more intimate events give you the opportunity to connect with new and previously known contacts on a deeper level while larger events, such as a visit from founder and CEO Sandra Yancey, have a more dynamic energy. Interesting speakers guarantee you always come away with some new ideas and information to apply in your own business.
Executive Managing Director, Pamela Chatry, is one of the most helpful and supportive women I know. She is knowledgeable of her members and their businesses and always watching for opportunities to connect those who can assist one another.
I have met amazing women through the eWomen Network events and am constantly learning new skills from their expertise and mentorship.

Think: Engagement Marketing
When you think about Social Media marketing |
By Guy Steeves
This year, I recommend that you keep focused on Engagement Marketing.
Marketing is really the practice of listening to customers and providing them with what they want and need. Engagement is being present and interactive-ready. Put them together and you get a whole lot of listening first and then action based on what you heard, what you learned. Bottom line-be of service to your customers and community. Join the conversation in your community. Communicate the virtues of your brand and build your business. And be patient. Social Media does pay dividends, mostly through increased awareness and recommendations. When you do it right, it works.
With the Internet, you are all more (potentially) connected then you ever have been before and have much greater reach potential, so you should take Social Media and its channels seriously when marketing and communicating to grow your businesses.
There is big evidence that your customers are using Social Media (over 500 million active users on Facebook), so you need to be there as well-to listen first, be helpful and be of service-all in a way that helps you come across as genuinely interested in your customer's needs. Start producing valued and compelling content and sending it to your database and those you have a connection with using permission-based Email and Social Media marketing tools. Many of the tools for small business are either very inexpensive or free.
I don't think that we like to be sold to, but rather helped to buy. And since Social Media is about soft sell, we need to play along.
What are you waiting for? Start engaging using digital marketing activities. Begin with 15 minutes a day, 3 days a week and increase your time spent based on the return on investment. Measure the return-initially at least-as the 1) quantity and quality of your new connections, 2) positive responses to your valued content and 3) how many new conversations you have with your community (or you initiated within your community).
Facebook (and Business Page) Getting Started Guide will help you get social and making Social Media marketing an integral part of your marketing mix.
