Greetings!

We held an Essentials for Community Association Volunteer leaders on Saturday, January 29th.  44 homeowner and managers attended at the beautiful Walden on Lake Conroe.  It was a great class.  Thank you to Walden for the use of the facility and to Pam Bailey, PCAM; Charles Jordan and Jeff Canady for giving up a Saturday morning to help with this class.

February 10th brings an M-100 Essentials of Community Association, the first step in the Professional Management Development Program for managers and the PCAM Certification.  The event will not be held at the Sheraton Brookhollow.  PLEASE BE ADVISED.

Dr. Todd Watson, PhD, BCMA, Consulting Arborist, Horticulturist and Plant Pathologist will be the speaker for our February 16th Educational Seminar.  Dr. Watson is a very popular guest and will speak on saving money with your landscape contract.  Please call the office or e-mail if you'd like to attend.

Please SAVE THE DATE of Monday, May 23rd for our Annual Golf Tournament at Southwyck Golf Course and call me to see how you can get involved.

Leslie Wian is no longer with the chapter office, please let me know if you  need any assistance.

Just call the office or send an e-mail to reserve your spot at any of these upcoming events.  713/784-5462 or stephanie@caihouston.org.

Community Spotlight Radio. 2

The Community Spotlight Radio Show airs Friday from

2:00 to 3:00 PM on 650 AM

Joining us this week will be Gidget Swift, from the American Red Cross, and doctors from The Methodist Hospital System to discuss the importance of learning CPR to keep your family and friends safe.  Over 80% of all cardiac arrests occur in the home, you are most likely to perform CPR on loved ones. The quicker a victim is given care, the greater their chances of survival are.  Our guests will discuss current CPR training methods, and also how to use an automated external defibrillator, which can be found in public buildings like schools, libraries, and airports. This AED is used to shock the heart of someone experiencing cardiac arrest, and will increase the victim's chances of survival by 50-75% chance of being resuscitated if a shock is administered to the heart within 5 minutes of collapsing. Training is available in the Methodist Training Center (the Texans Practice Bubble) on Saturday, February 12, 2011.

So, get your questions ready and join in the discussion on CBS 650Talk Radio, 650 on your AM dial from

2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday, January 28.

Do you have an interesting ideas for the radio show?
