Give To Grow Update

2010 Vestry Stewardship Statement

As of Monday August 2, we have received 445        pledges for a total of $1,821,376.
Every pledge makes a difference.

"They all ate and were satisfied. And when the leftover fragments were picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets." Luke 9:17  The story of the Loaves and Fishes shows us that when we share what we have - even if it doesn't seem like that much - miracles can happen. God blesses the gifts we offer and makes them wonderous.

Hunger Ministry Food Levels Critical
detergentPlease help fill the increasing need for canned and packaged food in the St. Louis Food Pantries. Any varieties of canned and dried foods are greatly needed. The supply of canned foods is extremely low.  Help is needed now. Soap, laundry or dish detergent, toilet paper, tissues and paper towels would also be welcome. Summer is an especially needful time due to the lack of school meal programs. Pick up a yellow bag near the receptionist's desk, fill the bag with this month's items and return it to the church or bring your donation in any box or bag. Can you help in other ways? Contact Becky Zaccarello 314.721.4565.

Volunteer Opportunities

Bulletin Board
Altar Guild
We invite you to deepen your spiritual life and connection to the liturgy by becoming a member of the Altar Guild. This ministry is dedicated to the service of God by lovingly preparing the altars for services. Many hands are needed, weekdays and Sundays, to care for the linens, candles and silver. Contact Betsy Panke: 314.993.6487 or epanke@aol.com.

Summer Singing Opportunity
Once again, this summer we will form an adult parish choir to sing the 10 AM liturgy each Sunday morning. Every Sunday through September 5, the parish choir will meet promptly at 9 AM in the choir room to prepare the music for the morning liturgy. Some choral experience is desirable and ability to read music is necessary. There is no expectation of an ongoing commitment; singers may join us for the entire summer or just one week. If you like to sing and would enjoy contributing to the parish's worship in this way, please join us!

Babies in the nursery

Pre-primary enrollment has begun
for fall of 2010

We are currently accepting applications for our parish's two pre-primary programs: 16 months-24 months on Thursday and Friday mornings from 8:30-11:30 AM and 2-3 years on Monday through Wednesday mornings from 8:30-11:30 AM.  Beginning this fall, we are also offering a five-morning schedule for both classes. Our programs are taught by degreed teachers and have proven quite successful since their inception. For more information, call Carol at 314.721.1502.

Due to miscommunication between our database system to the Lifetouch computer system we have had a long delay. The good news is we have just completed our fifth and final proof and have gone to print. We will let you know once the directories have arrived. Thank you very much, for your patience.

Valet Parking
Valet service by Midwest Parking will be available on Sunday mornings for elderly parishioners and those with special needs. This valuable service is being provided by an anonymous benefactor. Thank you for this very generous gift!
