Volunteer Opportunities |
Bulletin Board Summer Singing Opportunity Once again this summer we will form an adult parish choir to sing the 10 AM liturgy each Sunday morning. Every Sunday through September 5, the parish choir will meet promptly at 9 AM in the choir room to prepare the music for the morning liturgy. Some choral experience is desirable and ability to read music is necessary. There is no expectation of an ongoing commitment; singers may join us for the entire summer or just one week. If you like to sing and would enjoy contributing to the parish's worship in this way, please join us!
Youth Chorister Camp Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 23 Director: Christi Bye (Ages 5-13) Building on the great success of last Summer's camp, your young singer will learn the fundamentals of music through choral singing, movement, rhythmic games and crafts. The campers will prepare a program to be performed at 11 AM, Friday, July 23, for their families and friends. The Boy and Girl Choristers of the youth Chorister Camp will rehearse and sing together for five days. In addition to working hard, the life of a chorister is also very rewarding and fun and hard work will be interspersed with fun activities. Participation in the Chorister Camp will promote self-discipline, healthy self-esteem and an ability to communicate articulately in the context of a group activity. Choristers will enjoy learning musical skills, vocal skills, and general rehearsal techniques.
To register, go to www.csmsg.org/music/stcecilia and follow the links for "Chorister Camp."
