Welcome
Be sure to welcome Dusty Fecht, who will be beginning his second year at Duke Divinity School in the fall. Dusty is a postulant for Holy Orders from the Diocese of Indiana and will serve as our summer seminarian. In hosting a summer seminarian we seek to build strong ties with Duke Divinity School, which is foremost in the training of clergy and scholars. The Church of St. Michael & St. George offers unique resources in training future clergy. Please welcome Dusty and help him feel at home in our parish. |
Stewardship Give To Grow Update 2010 Vestry Stewardship Statement
We are on the verge, but we're not there yet!
You should have received a letter updating you on where we are with this year's pledge campaign. As Father Archie said, "This year's budget reflects the cost of adding a woman to our clergy staff. We will not grow without a clergy team that can meet the pastoral, spiritual and sacramental needs of our congregation. We want more people, we need more clergy."
Will you make an additional contribution to The Church of St. Michael & St. George so that we can balance the budget and hire an articulate, caring woman as a priest on our staff? Please contact the church if you need a pledge card. Thank you. |

Summer Singing Opportunity Once again this summer we will form an adult parish choir to sing the 10 AM liturgy each Sunday morning. Beginning on Sunday, June 6 and continuing through Sunday, September 5, the parish choir will meet promptly at 9 AM in the choir room to prepare the music for the morning liturgy. Some choral experience is desirable and ability to read music is necessary. There is no expectation of an ongoing commitment; singers may join us for the entire summer or just one week. If you like to sing and would enjoy contributing to the parish's worship in this way, please join us!
Youth Chorister Camp Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 23 Director: Christi Bye (Ages 5-13) Building on the great success of last Summer's camp, your young singer will learn the fundamentals of music through choral singing, movement, rhythmic games and crafts. The campers will prepare a program to be performed at 11 AM, Friday, July 23, for their families and friends. The Boy and Girl Choristers of the youth Chorister Camp will rehearse and sing together for five days. In addition to working hard, the life of a chorister is also very rewarding and fun and hard work will be interspersed with fun activities. Participation in the Chorister Camp will promote self-discipline, healthy self-esteem and an ability to communicate articulately in the context of a group activity. Choristers will enjoy learning musical skills, vocal skills, and general rehearsal techniques.
To register, go to www.csmsg.org/music/stcecilia and follow the links for "Chorister Camp."

Stupp Scholarship It's time for interested graduating high school seniors from this parish to apply for a Jane Howell Stupp Living Memorial Scholarship for college for the 2010-2011 academic year.
