WASHINGTON PARK UPDATE

This Week in the Park
   January 30 - February 03, 2012
  • Emergency sprinkler installation continued throughout the garage. Concrete touch ups and soil fill-ins around the sides of the garage continued, as did the waterproofing of the garage roof.  
  • Elevator equipment and insulation system installation continued in both the southwest and northwest elevator stations.
  • Construction of the permanent stage on the northern edge of the Civic Lawn progressed.
  • Playground mulching was completed and landscaping continued around the playground.
  • Construction of the trellis continued at the "comfort station" restroom building.
  • Installation of pump room equipment continued, while storm system installation continued at 14th Street.
  • The waterproofing system installation for the expansion joint on Race Street also continued.
  • The west ramp concrete pour was completed.
  • Light pole base construction continued throughout the southeast region of the park.

Next Week in the Park
February 6 - February 10, 2012
  • Emergency sprinkler and storm system installation will continue throughout the garage and the garage perimeter. The roof will also continue to be waterproofed and soil will continue to be filled in around the sides of the garage.
  • Equipment installation will continue in the elevator stations and waterproofing will continue in the northeast elevator station. Insulation system installation and trellis construction will also continue in the elevator stations.
  • Concrete finishes and touch ups will continue.
  • Stage construction will continue.
  • Sidewalk pours around the restroom building will begin.
  • Construction and soil fill-in work on and around the concession buildings will continue.
  • Fence installation will begin around the dog park.
  • The pump room equipment installation will continue.
  • Storm system piping installation will continue on Race Street, as will the prepping of the Elm Street ramp for future concrete work.
  • Light pole installation and the setting of sandstone platforms will continue in the south end of the park.
