This Week in the Park
October 31 - November 4, 2011
- This past week a check presentation was held in the park to recognize a $25,000 grant given by the Humana Foundation. Over 50 people turned out for a program that included Cincinnati Park Board Director Willie Carden as emcee, and speakers Mayor Mark Mallory, 3CDC Vice Chairman Joe Pichler, 3CDC Executive Vice President Chad Munitz, and Humana Regional CEO Larry Savage. Also in attendance were Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls and Cincinnati City Council Members Laure Quinlivan and Wendell Young.
- The last concrete pour of the garage roof was made and waterproofing the west side of the garage roof began. Rebar was set up for the wall pours along the two garage ramps. Installation of the fire protection on the first level of the garage continued. The landing of the southwest elevator portal continued to be constructed.
- The pump room walls continued to be constructed.
- The drywall installation for the ceiling in the restroom building continued.
- The safety surface installation continued in the playground area.
- The porphyry installation surrounding the bandstand continued as well as the installation of the euro-sand joints connecting the porphyry. The restoration of the bandstand columns were completed.
- The landscaping in the southwest area of the park continued along with the installation of the lime stone curb along Elm and 12th streets.

Next Week in the Park November 7 - November 11, 2011 - The walls for the two ramps in the garage will continue to be poured. The waterproofing of the roof of the garage and the double sided wall will continue. The back fill along the south garage wall will continue. The construction for the southwest elevator portal will continue and the blocking for the northeast elevator portal will begin.
- The construction of the pump room will continue.
- The safety surface installation in the playground area will be finished.
- The bandstand will continue to be painted as well as the porphyry installation.
- Landscaping in the south area of the park will continue as well as the limestone wall installation. Sod installation will begin in the southeast portion of the park.
