WASHINGTON PARK UPDATE

We have hit another milestone in the Washington Park renovation and expansion project.  We are beginning to pour the first slab on grade (SOG) concrete pour for the lower level of the garage.  The first pour will begin Monday morning at 4am and will last all morning.  The first pour is roughly 13,000 square feet located in the north west portion of the site near 14th & Elm streets.

This Week in the Park
  June 6 - June 10, 2011

  • Waterproofing placed along Race Street garage walls 
  • Concrete block and limestone installation at restroom building
  • Continue with playground equipment footers
  • Waterproofing at sub level of double sided garage walls along Elm Street
  • Internal plumbing fixtures installation continues in restroom building
  • Garage wall pours along 14th Street
  • Columns, pile caps and beam pours continue
  • Set up forms for interior ramp walls in garage lower level 
  • Storm line installation in northeast of park
  • Perforated sleeves installed in west side of garage
  • Northwest elevator shaft walls poured
  • Started to reset granite curbs along Race Street
  • Members of the Park Board, 3CDC and the project team went to Minnesota to check on the status of the playground equipment.

Next Week in the Park
June 13 - June 17, 2011

  • Continue to tie rebar cages and pile cap pours
  • Waterproofing installation continues along Race Street
  • Begin footers for playground canal boat
  • Tie back caps placed for waterproofing  
  • Continue laying block walls at restroom building
  • Continue utility work in the south end of park
  • Continue clean up of granite curb on site
  • Sidewalk pours in southeast of park
  • Continue under slab drainage under garage  
  • Complete wall pours along 14th Street
  • First slab on grade pour in the southwest corner of garage
  • Rough to fine grading around the bandstand
