JWCC Workforce Career Fair 
John Wood Community College will host a Workforce Career Fair Saturday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the JWCC Workforce Development Center, 4220 Kochs Lane in Quincy. 
 
Representatives from JWCC workforce programs will join employers from local industry to provide information on job openings, careers, workforce education and products. Area employment firms will also be on hand to assist job seekers.
 
Admissions, financial aid and advising personnel from JWCC will be available for consultation and tours of the Workforce Development Center will be offered. Free Pepsi products and light refreshments will be served while supplies last. Participants may also enter a drawing for a free, non-credit JWCC training course*.
 
JWCC offers workforce education programs in computer-aided design, construction trades, electrical, landscape and turfgrass management, sustainable local foods farming, manufacturing, truck driver training, fire science, emergency services, restaurant management and welding. Customized training opportunities are also coordinated through JWCC's Workforce Development Center.
 
JWCC Workforce Career Fair sponsors are: Dot Foods and Dot Transportation, Knapheide Manufacturing Company, Gully Transportation, Kohl Wholesale, Refreshment Services Pepsi, Witte Brothers Trucking, Midwest Patterns, Adecco and Bergman Nurseries.
 
Employers planning to participate in the fair in addition to the fair's sponsors include: Royalty Electric, Roland Outdoor, Quincy Fire Department and Adams County Ambulance Service.
 
Participating workforce partners are Great River Economic Development Foundation and the Workforce Investment Board of Western Illinois.
