Greetings!
Happy 5th of July! We hope you had a great long weekend with family and friends. Did you indulge in many hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad and s'mores? That's OK, that's what holiday weekends are for. Take some time this week to exercise an extra 30 minutes a day, do a few stretches and eat some fresh fruit and veggies. By this weekend, you'll feel better and be back on your healthy track. And please take a minute to visit and like our Facebook page where you'll see some great photos of our team at the Kids In Crisis Triathlon and pictures from our Darien After Hours event. The Moore Facebook page is great place to see what fun event we have coming up next! Your Friends at Moore |

Tennis Elbow Anyone? The Mystery Behind Tennis Elbow
By Greg Besson, MSPT at Moore
This article was so popular last summer, we thought it would be a great idea to publish it again with all those summer matches in play!
One of the more nagging injuries that has a higher likelihood of occurring during the spring and summer is "Tennis Elbow" (or lateral epicondylitis). Contrary to its nickname "tennis elbow" does not always occur from playing tennis. As the weather gets nicer we tend to do more outdoor activities, and we tend to jump right in without taking into consideration the inactive winter months. Tennis elbow can come about by performing any number of repetitive gripping, grasping, squeezing or lifting tasks.

Chocolate Milk as a Recovery Drink
Keith Vinci, Personal Trainer at Moore
Chocolate milk is a healthy, natural and inexpensive way to promote recovery following a good workout.
According to the Nutrient Facts website, one cup of low-fat chocolate milk contains 160 calories, 25 g of carbohydrates and 8 g of protein. Chocolate milk is low in saturated fat and cholesterol, and contains over a dozen vitamins and minerals.
The average recovery drink supplement has between 20-30g of carbohydrates and 8-10g of protein. Interestingly, ingredients in recovery drinks are often extracted from ingredients that are already found naturally in dairy products.
So why go with the extracted version when you can go natural, and chocolate! Enjoy it guilt free - you deserve it after a tough workout! It may even be the motivation you need to push yourself just that much harder.

Client Testimonials
"Motivating, encouraging, and inspiring ...that's the Moore Center! After bunion surgery, I had a challenging recovery...getting back to my daily routine of exercising, running and spinning. My PT guy was Joe Esposito; he was amazing. With his guidance and knowledge, he helped me recover both mentally and physically. Everyone at Moore was always so upbeat and motivating. I had a great experience at the Moore Center. Thanks for being there for me. And, as Joe said to me after my last session, "We're always here if you need us"." ~ Barbara A Read more on our website!
