September 2011
Recipe: Apple Spiced Soda
It's the first day of September, and while it may not be the first day of Autumn, summery days are definitely behind us. So why not celebrate it -- nay, embrace it -- by sipping on a cool & crisp fall-inspired beverage?

  1. Pour syrups over ice
  2. Top with sparkling water or club soda
  3. Stir and enjoy!

Seattle Coffee Gear is #960 on Inc. 5000

Last month, Inc. released their annual list of fastest growing private companies, and SCG was named #960!

We think this is pretty cool for a number of reasons, but the fact that we are a start-up that has grown on its own steam during one of the most uncertain economic times in recent history is something we're definitely proud of. And it's something we could not have done without you! By choosing to work with SCG, you enable us to build a sustainable business that is focused on providing knowledgeable service and we definitely appreciate that. Your support allows us to do work we love, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

Ask the Experts
Q. Is there a difference in flavor if you stir your latte before drinking it?

A. We didn't know, so we tried it out! First, we made a latte and kept the 'art' intact. Then we made a latte and stirred it, sipping them side by side.

We found that the stirred latte was definitely creamier on the palette, which would make sense since you're incorporating more of that lovely microfoam throughout the drink once you stir it. So it seemed to taste a little bit richer.

The non-stirred latte still tasted great and, of course, any art that was poured could still be shown off. There wasn't enough of a flavor difference to say definitively one way or the other is better, so once again, this is really up to your own personal preferences.
