Today's Chargers: A Student Perspective
Honoka Eguchi
Junior
Business major
Sarah Chapman "Ray of Sunshine" Memorial Scholarship Recipient
What organizations are you involved in on campus?
I am heavily involved in campus life at UAHuntsville. I am president of the Student Council for the Honors Program, as well as president of the Economics club. I am a layout editor for the Exponent, and a PASS leader for microeconomics. I love being able to help other students and participate in so many activities.
What do you plan to do with your degree and experience?
I am going to graduate in spring of 2012 with a degree in Finance. I may go to graduate school or look for a career in the banking business.
As a recipient of the Sarah Chapman "Ray of Sunshine" Memorial Scholarship, how familiar are you with Sarah Chapman's story?
My brother and sister were both close friends of hers. I had hoped to get a chance to meet her, since I had heard so many great things about her and she was also in the college of business. Unfortunately I never got that opportunity.
How do you plan to honor Sarah's memory?
I think the best way I can honor Sarah's memory is to attempt to follow in her footsteps. She was actively involved with the university and the students through SGA and the Lancers. I hope to represent UAHuntsville as effectively as she did. |
