5 National Awards, but their Clients & Staff are the Real Winners!
Audio Video Interiors returned from Orlando's Electronics House Expo with 5 prestigious awards. Michael Pope, President, feels that his clients and staff, however, are the real winners.
Pope's custom electronics integration company earned 3 awards from CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) in their annual Mark of Excellence Awards. The Mark of Excellence Awards program, presented by CEA's TechHome Division, recognizes the best in home electronics products, services, and installed technology. Each year, manufacturers, distributors, and systems integrators enter to compete in several award categories for this coveted honor judged by independent experts within the industry. Electronic House Magazine presented their Home of the Year awards during the Expo as well. Audio Video Interiors earned 2 of their awards, including one for "Amazing Application"!

This elegant home boasts an Arabian-influenced dedicated theater with a fully automated Control4 system including distributed audio & video, integrated security and lighting control with "on-the-fly" homeowner scene changes. It was awarded Gold for the Multi-Room Audio/Video Project of the Year and the coveted Platinum Luxury Home of the Year. Criteria for Home of the Year required that the hardware and programming within the project demonstrated that the system improved the homeowner's lifestyle and/or delivered a user-friendly experience in a complex home with many high-tech systems. The third national recognition earned by this project Friday evening was the Silver Award granted by Electronic House in their Home of The Year "Best Dedicated Home Theater" category. In addition, this home received acclaim by the control system's manufacturer, Control4, just a few months earlier.

Imagine being able to arrange images from 8 different video sources onto your 14-ft-wide home theater screen. Now imagine being able to freeze the image and annotate onto the screen using your 17" touchpanel control, to illustrate strategic sportsplays to your kids. These features are a reality in this theater. The telestration functions were an added bonus feature of the Crestron DVPHD Processor. This theater also boasts a Digital Projection Projector, Stewart CineCurve Masking Screen, Kaleidescape Movie Server with 10TB storage, iSky LED star-field ceiling panels and seating for 18. The audio challenges created by the unique architecture, with its steel beams and asymetrical lines, were overcome by a Mark Levinson Electronics Ensemble administering nearly 7000 watts of power to a perfectly calibrated JBL Synthesis System. This project is truly worthy of its recognition as being an "Amazing Application"!
A testament to the company's credibility and implementation of Best Practices, CEA granted them the Platinum Award for "Training & Support Program of the Year", citing both their internal and external training programs. Pope's philosophy is that his well-trained, certified sales & installation staff is the backbone of the company, enabling them to design, engineer, program, install and service these award-winning projects. asserts,"It's an honor to be recognized by industry professionals and peers. I'm very proud of these awards and of the work my staff has put into earning them. We bring this level of expertise to every one of our projects, whether it is a single room system or a whole house integration. We strive to make each of our clients a "winner"". The entry also noted the company's commitment to educating its Industry partners (Architects, Interior Designers, Builders and Remodelers) on A/V and Security considerations and solutions. "We feel that the most succesful projects stem from solid design practices, and that includes planning for AV as early as possible within a project. By reaching out to professionals and offering acredited courses, we can provide our partners a valuable service while, ultimately, providing the best outcome for the client."
