Blue Ribbon awarded to Mysterious Garden of Green

Landscape Design Associates has done it again!  For the second consecutive year, their amazing landscape display has earned the coveted Blue Ribbon...and, once again, Audio Video Interiors is proud to be a part of the design!  Last year's Margaritaville display showcased our waterproof LCD behind a waterfall.  How do you top that?  By being transported into "The Matrix".  This visually stunning garden is a re-creation of the film's famous vortex, utilizing Stewart StarGlas, a rear-projection glass screen, to immerse guests in this fantasy world of green binary number patterns.  It's a must see!

The Garden, designed by Ken Kushmider, President of Landscape Design Associates in Hudson, is an artful & contrasting display of color, texture and lighting.  Alluring shadows are as much a part of the creation as the unique statue, which is framed by a curtain of water.  Lush, soft perennial foilage is in sharp contrast to the tall, thin grasses and evergreen.  Bare trees, metalic sculptures and contemporary stools play against the rich red leather wing back chairs.  The Pergola's columns are split to reveal LED Lighting and draw the eye to the 72" Projection Screen.  A 5000 lumen NEC Projector is hidden behind the glass, as it could be in any home setting to keep it out of the elements but enjoyable for viewing and entertaining from your patio or poolside.  Sonance Mariners, weatherproof speakers, can be used for the projector's audio as well as for listening to music.

Ken says, "I often heard people as they

walked to the garden, while looking at the

green code streaming down the starglas screen say "Cool, this is the Matrix garden!"

This year's garden is a complete departure from his Margaritaville display last year and an indication of how diverse his work is.  In both gardens, however, AV played an integral role.  In addition to music and video, security and lighting control elements can transform an outdoor area, enhancing the space's comfort, safety and enjoyment.  As this garden demonstrates, these elements are design-friendly and can be seamlessly incorporated into your landscape's design.  Speakers take the form of rocks or mimic satellite landscape lights, Waterproof LCD's can be mounted virtually anywhere, lighting design creates ambience, security cameras can be discreetly installed...and all can be controlled from weatherproof remotes or your iPad/iPhone!  Michael Pope, President of Audio Video Interiors and Safety Technologies states, "We are honored to once again be part of Landscape Design Associates' award-winning display. Ken is very creative when using A/V in harmony with the outdoor experience!"
