Greetings!
If you were present on Sunday, you witnessed Pastor Brice showing our kids pictures representing the various treasures in their life. After each one, he placed them into the treasure pot and ultimately wrapped his arms around the pot and held on tightly demonstrating that we often try hard to hold on to something that is really not ours in the first place. We come into this world naked with nothing and we will leave the same way. I believe that deep down, every adult present clearly understood the simple message being taught that morning.
A few years ago during stewardship season, Pastor Glenn taught the youth version of the stewardship lesson. He told our kids that stewardship participation is very important. We need to pay the light bills, the insurance on the building and various ministries that take place each and every day. There are hundreds of things that take place on a regular basis that the casual observer may overlook.
However, at some point during the lesson, he shared with them the fact that God doesn't want our money. In fact, He doesn't even need our money. Now, we know that sounds a bit strange to be said, especially during stewardship season. But be assured that it is true. If we ever get to the point that our understanding includes the thought that God depends upon us, we are in big trouble.
While God may not want our money nor does He need our money, the one thing that He does want is us. God wants us to be willing to give everything we are to Him. You will quickly surmise that this includes our wallets and checkbooks and when God gets us, he gets our money. We must realize that truly everything we have already belongs to God. God desires a relationship that will not think twice about how much we are willing to give back to Him.
On Sunday, we will symbolically gather our commitment cards as an act of worship to our God. The collective information from these cards will be used by our stewardship committee to confirm that we are on track with our 2013 budget proposal. In a few weeks, you will be able to go over that budget as we determine the financial side of our ministry plan for the coming year. We hope you will prayerfully join us in committing to our upcoming budget.

Ora Reed in Concert
Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro, Sendai, and Tokyo are just some of the venues where Ora has shared her musical talent. The big news is that she is on her way to Tiburon and will share with us in concert on Sunday, Oct 7, starting at 6 pm. There is much that can be said of this Mississippi native, but none more important than she is good friends with our own Jane Pollard. Come early as we expect a full house and enjoy an evening of incredible music. This is a great opportunity to bring a friend.

Dinners for Seven
On Sunday evening, Oct 14, several groups will gather in homes all over the county to eat a meal together and enjoy friendly conversation with one another. Several homes will be kid-friendly for whole families and some that will be just for adults. It's not too late to let us know that you want to be included. Since there will be no evening service that night, groups will be able to determine what time they start and when they will end. Those hosting families with kids may decide to start earlier than some other groups who may meet a little later in the evening. So, click here and send Pastor Glenn an email or call the church to let us know you want to be included.

Fall Music Festival
Our children will be sharing Jesus and their musical talents on Sunday night, Oct 21st, at 6 pm. As we experience record numbers in all choirs and hand bells this fall, this will prove to be a memorable experience for all. This is a great opportunity to meet friends and family members of our kids. We hope you will join us. |

Contagious Christian Study
With over 140 folks in 13 groups meeting all over the county on nearly every day of the week studying Contagious Christian, it is becoming apparent that God is at work in our body. We are learning to share our faith in Christ in a normal and natural way. Whether you are involved in the study or not, we ask that you pray for this cooperative effort with much anticipation for what God will do among us and the people within our circles of influence.

California Mission Offering 2012
September is over, but it is not too late to participate in our annual California Mission Offering. We have received $1785 toward our goal of $2000. If you missed hearing from Tim Fortesque last Sunday, you missed the testimony of a passionate young man that God has clearly called to reach out to our Muslim friends all over the state of California. Our next prayer walk is scheduled for Oct 27 (see details below). Begin praying now regarding your involvement in the summer of 2013 as we participate in Feeding Those Who Feed Us. Stay tuned for more details.

Prayer Walk in San Jose on October 27
Mark Saturday, Oct 27, and plan to join us as we head to San Jose to team up with our Bay Area Indian church planter, William Nathaniel. We will learn about the efforts in the South Bay to plant churches among Indian people groups, visit a Sikh temple, prayer walk, and eat Indian food together before heading home. We will leave from the church at 8:30 am and return around 2 pm. We hope you will plan to join us for this morning of praying and learning how to support efforts to share the Good News of Jesus.

Word of Encouragement "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such wisdom does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness."
