Greetings!

What is faith? Faith comes from the root of the same Greek word that we use to translate both believe and trust. The things we trust are the things in which we place our faith. The things we believe are the things in which we place our faith. The writer of Hebrews defines faith as being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

When it comes to faith, we should be in search of authenticity in every way. As we journey through life, we often encounter so called faith from a variety of directions and we must constantly be on guard.

The first of these may be referred to as second-hand faith. The classic example of this is a child that grows up with truly believing parents, but while the child understands faith talk inside and out, it is never owned or made personal. The danger of second-hand faith lies in the absence of a personal relationship and commitment.

The second variety can be referred to as counterfeit faith. The danger in this faith form is that it is not based on the truth of God's word. It is made popular in cults and sects that preach a message other than faith in Christ alone. There is often something added to or taken away from a straight forward relationship to Jesus.

The only faith that matters is faith that is genuine. It is faith that adheres to God's Word as the only and ultimate authority. It is faith that comes through salvation in Christ alone. This faith must be straight from the heart. It is the kind of faith that says I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me
Women's Ministry Hikes

What's happening with our youth?

Our fundraiser was a huge success. Thanks to all youth parents, dessert makers, youth leaders, youth and everyone at TBC for showing your support and believing in our kids.

We leave for San Diego on July 1st for a week of ministry. Please pray for us during our week down south. Our Disney trip in August is shaping up. If you have not signed up, see Pastor Steve right away.
Children's Camp at Cazadero
camp
Children's Camp 2012 at Camp Cazadero will be spread over two weeks. July 15-19 will be for 1st thru 3rd graders. July 23-27 will be for 4th thru 6th graders. A camp experience has proven time and time again to be one of those spiritual marker events in the lives of people of all ages. Stop by the camp table in the Gallery for registration materials or speak to Pastor Brice with any questions.
You didn't go to the Hop? Shame on you!

Then you missed Pastor Brice's rendition of John Travolta's Saturday Night Fever or is that Elvis Presley in Las Vegas (where's the cape). Oh well, you are just going to have to ask him for yourself and vow to never miss another fellowship event. You never know what you're going to get. Mark your calendar because our TBC Summer Picnic is Aug 18th at Hoog Park in Novato. More details coming.
You will not want to miss this!
Kits for Kids

We want you to see the result of our Kits for Kids Drive. Thank you Tiburon family for joining with MK Friends in opening doors to share the Good News of Jesus with children all over the world! We collected enough for 30 kits plus 10 partial kits.
Family Camp at Mt Hermon
mt hermon

Mt. Hermon is a beautiful setting where you can meet God while stretching your soul in his beautiful creation. The people and programs are ready to be God's blessing to you.

Every person I've spoken with who has attended Family Camp at Mt. Hermon has had a wonderful time with God and others. Each detail is a blessing - the location, speakers, music, children's activities, and the pancake breakfast outdoors on the mountain ridge! That doesn't even mention the Redwood Canopy Ropes Course, archery, swimming pool, or the ice cream shop.

You'll enjoy camp whether you're single, married, have children still at home or not.

When: Labor Day Weekend, August 31 to September 3

Where: Mt. Hermon Camp, near Santa Cruz

Cost: Depends on housing you select from four different options. Overall cost is very reasonable for the room, great food, and wonderful activities available to you, especially when compared to a weekend road trip.

Scholarship: available by completing the form online (called "camperships")

For more info or to register, click here. Each person or family registers on its own and not as a group

Finally, please let Pastor Brice know if you have questions and that you've registered so I can be looking for you on Labor Day weekend.

Word of Encouragement
Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear. It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice.
