The Tiburon Tidings eNewsletter

Greetings!

Holy Week is finally here. As the pinnacle of the church calendar, we want you to be aware of each service that we have planned this week.

On Maundy Thursday, we will gather at 7 pm to celebrate the Last Supper of Christ with his disciples. In addition to sharing in the Lord's Supper, we will experience Dave Robinson's artistic expression through speed painting. If you have never witnessed this incredible art, we invite you to join us and bring a friend.

On Good Friday, we will again gather at 7 pm for an evening of Scripture, Symbol and Song. We will witness the story of Jesus that leads from the garden to the cross to the tomb. This will be a sobering evening to understand the reality of the length to which God has gone to demonstrate his love to us.

At 8:30 and again at 11:00 on Sunday morning, we will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. God's Word will be shared, we will pray, and praises will be offered in thanksgiving to the power of God that raised our Lord from the dead.

Following our 11:00 worship, we will move downstairs for a wonderful Easter feast. About 1 pm, the kids will move outdoors for the traditional Easter Egg Hunt. This will be a great time of fun and fellowship with one another. We invite you to bring friends and family on Sunday.

Women's Ministry
women
Women's Ministry will play hostess to a women's event sponsored by the California Southern Baptist Convention on April 13-14. All details for upcoming events and more can be found here.
Men's Retreat at Camp Cazadero
dan
Courageous Men is the theme of the upcoming men's retreat. Men from other Marin churches will join us for a great weekend in the Redwoods. We will leave Marin about 5 pm on Friday, Apr 20, and be home before 8 pm on Saturday, Apr 21. The cost for the weekend is $80, but we don't want the cost to keep anyone away. If you need a scholarship, see Eric or Dan. Go ahead and sign up in the Gallery since we have to call in the count for meals. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend to spend this 24 hour experience with other guys from our church. We hope you can make it.
Youth Stuff
Fall Retreat
Here's what's happening with our youth that you need to know about. Our kids will be leading worship on April 15th at 6 pm. We hope you will show your support. Also, the youth will hang out for a movie night on Friday, April 27th, at 7 pm. More things coming in May, but we'll wait to tell you about them later.

Are You One In A Million Yet?
horn
April and D2L is finally here and it is time for prayer as one of the million people committed to pray for 100 million people living in the Horn of Africa. Will you still be one in a million? Stop by the table under the world map in the Gallery to pick up your prayer calendar to guide you each day of April. Pray that God will call men and women in the Horn unto himself and that we will see the church emerge as a result. Click on the logo above to learn more about this month of prayer and to begin praying. You can also print out your own prayer calendars from this location.
April Dark to Light Prayer Opportunities
In addition to praying each day for the people of the Horn of Africa during your personal quiet time, you will have opportunity to participate in several other D2L prayer experiences. We will mention prayer items during our worship times all month along with an emphasis each Wednesday during our regular prayer time. On Thursday, April 19th, the church will be open from 6 am to 10 pm for you to stop by before or after work, during your lunch break or any other time on that day. Also, we will have a prayer walk in the East Bay among another near faith people group to the Horn of Africa. We will meet the missionary who works alongside them and we might have a special guest missionary with us for that time. It is our prayer that you will take advantage of this call to pray.

The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. James 5:16 Will you be found among the faithful?
Summer Sports Camp

Family Camp at Mt Hermon
mt hermon

Mt. Hermon is a beautiful setting where you can meet with God while stretching your soul in his beautiful creation. The people and programs are ready to be God's blessing to you.

Every person I've spoken with who has attended Family Camp at Mt. Hermon has had a wonderful time with God and others. Each detail is a blessing - the location, speakers, music, children's activities, and the pancake breakfast outdoors on the mountain ridge! That doesn't even mention the Redwood Canopy Ropes Course, archery, swimming pool, or the ice cream shop.

You'll enjoy camp whether your single, married, have children still at home or not.

When: Labor Day Weekend, August 31 to September 3

Where: Mt. Hermon Camp, near Santa Cruz

Cost: Depends on housing you select from four different options. Overall cost is very reasonable for the room, great food, and wonderful activities available to you, especially when compared to a weekend road trip.

Scholarship: available by completing the form online (called "camperships")

For more info or to register, click here. Each person or family registers on its own and not as a group

Finally, please let Pastor Brice know if you have questions and that you've registered so I can be looking for you on Labor Day weekend.

Word of Encouragement
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:5-11

Wisdom

"But courage, believer! Your body shall rise again. Laid in the earth it may be, but
kept in the earth it cannot be. The voice of nature bids you die, but the voice of the
Omnipotent bids you live again.

C. H. Spurgeon
