Greetings!
Holy Week begins the first day of April. As one of the two times a year that some people are willing to come to church, it is important that we begin praying now for those we care about and start extending invitations to the variety of services that will take place.
On Palm Sunday, our preschool and elementary children will enter the sactuary with the palm branches representing the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The children's choirs will sing with the adults on April 1st.
Maundy Thursday will feature our remembrance of the Lord's last supper with his disciples. We have invited David Robinson to share an extraordinary painting experience during this special service.
On Good Friday, our adult choir will lead us in a service to remember the work of Christ on the cross through Scripture, Symbol and Song.
Holy Week culminates on Easter Sunday with a celebration of our risen Lord in both morning services. After the 11:00 service, we will gather for our annual Easter Lunch. The children will participate in an Easter egg hunt and other fun activities. Make sure to make reservations for lunch.
Pick up one of the cards in the Gallery with the list of Holy Week activities to share with your friends and neighbors.

Making Sense of Entertainment & Media
Finally, a seminar on March 10th for parents and students together that takes seriously the issue of entertainment and media, dealing honestly with both parental concerns and student's questions. Not only does this seminar expose the worldviews at work in entertainment today, but it faces serious questions such as: Where do we draw the line? Should a Christian listen to secular music? What is a Christian band? What is going on in popular culture? This seminar confronts these questions straight on, and provides the Biblical foundations for your family to develop a strategy for engaging the culture for Christ, right where it is the loudest.
The seminar is sponsored by the Northbay Christian Worldview Partnership and will serve as host to speaker, John Stonestreet, Executive Director of Operations for Summit Ministries in Colorado. The seminar will take place at Petaluma Valley Baptist Church on March 10, from 9 am to noon, followed by a Q & A session with John during lunch, lasting until 1:30. Click here for tickets. |

God is calling out a million people to pray for 100 million people living in the Horn of Africa. Will you be one in a million? Every person I've spoken with who has attended Family Camp at Mt. Hermon has had a wonderful time with God and others. When: Labor Day Weekend, August 31 to September 3 Where: Mt. Hermon Camp, near Santa Cruz Cost: Depends on housing you select from four different options. Word of Encouragement
My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:20-27
