Greetings!
As the ancient philosopher, Alice Cooper, once said, "Schools Out for the Summer" or at least it soon will be. That means that the rain will hopefully be gone soon, the kids are home and you are preparing for a busy summer. Do you remember when summer was that relaxing season of the year? I feel that we often attempt to pack so many things in and by August, we are looking forward to returning to the routine of the fall and a new school year.
Beth is back from her trip assisting Leda during a prayer conference she lead for a variety of prayer coordinators from all across the Horn. The larger team continues to meet weekly in preparation for their travel on June 27. The group includes: John & Stephanie Shouse, Eric & Lenora Kwok, Cheri Cavener, Craig Singleton and Brice Butler. There are some ways in which you can be involved.
First, begin praying now for the team trip coming in a few weeks. Pray for their preparation, pray for preparation going on in the Horn and pray for God to be at work in the hearts of everyone our team will encounter. Second, there may be some home needs for members of the team. You may be called upon to water plants, check the mail or Susan may enjoy a break with the Butler boys. Finally, some of you who are unable to go on the trip will be able to support the team financially. If you would like to make a financial contribution to help the team with the purchase of airline tickets, make your check to TBC, mark the memo line Horn Mission Trip and place it in the regular offering in an envelop that is also marked for the Horn Mission Trip.
It is important to remember that mission trip participation is not limited to the members of the team. We are all a part of this important effort in extending the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth. May we all do our part for this trip.

San Quentin
Saturday, June 4th, at 5:30 pm is our next visit to lead worship inside San Quentin State Prison. We have been a part of this ministry for many years and we regularly pray for the men of SQ. Participation during our four services each year is not limited to the choir. If you would like to attend when we go in, please contact Pastor Glenn and he will give you the details for you to participate. |

TLC to Visit Charlie Brown
The TLC group (hint: senior adults) will be heading to Santa Rosa on Tuesday, June 14th, to visit the Charles Schultz Museum and all of your favorite Peanuts characters. Mark your calendars and send an email to Delia to reserve your spot. Drivers are needed, so let her know if you can drive. The group will have lunch in Santa Rosa. This will truly be a fun day. |

Home Stay
Many of you are aware that Craig & Beth have led an important ministry reaching out to international students in the ELS program that meets on the Dominican campus for several years. We have been introduced to Home Stay, a program that provides housing for these students. If you would be interested in learning more about this opportunity, keep reading. The host family handbook, which outlines the program, and the Home Stay host biography sheet, which is used to match each family with the best possible candidate, can be found by clicking here. Students arrive monthly and they stay for varying lengths of time, depending on their individual educational goals. Families can indicate whether they prefer a short or long term student since it's a very flexible program. Once each host has filled out the biography sheet, you can contact Monica Steward by e-mail or by calling 917-846-2416 and to schedule a home visit and stipend discussion. |

Word of Encouragement
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:16-20

Wisdom
The last thing you and I want to do is waste our lives on religious activity that is devoid of spiritual productivity -- being active in the church but not advancing the kingdom of God.
