October is almost gone.
October is a wonderful month. It transitions seasons as the rain and temperatures fall. It brings bright colors, warm clothes, sweet candies, creepy costumes and other curious objects. October ends with Halloween and it seems impossible to not be presented with monsters, ghouls, and otherworldly possibilities. Hmmm, otherworldly possibilities, otherworldly possibilities ... can I find real possibilities?
Jesus opens to us true otherworldly possibilities. He says, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world" (John 8.23). Jesus offers us a life in rhythm with the music of heaven. Life that is unknown apart from the empowering reality of the living God. Life that has a full measure of joy is free to forgive, repays evil with blessing, shares others' burdens, encourages the weak and speaks truth in love.
Christ also promises future otherworldly possibilities. When I align myself with him I rejoice in his words, "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going" (John 14.2-4).
Thank God that he entered his history as a man and that he taught, embodied, died and rose again so that we might enter his otherworldly reality here and now and enjoy the promise of more to come.
Happy October, Pastor Brice

My Stewardship Commitment
We are somewhat behind on our stewardship commitments for 2011 and some of you who have faithfully made this commitment in past years have not done so yet. We hope you will. We praise God for the 84 families who have submitted their cards. We ask that the 34 families who have made commitments in the past will certainly do so again. We also invite our 58 other families, both new and old, to join the rest of the TBC family by letting us know your intention to commit for the first time this coming year.
Your card is an important tool in the good work that our stewardship committee uses to measure our potential budget against anticipated income and it really helps them as they put together our 2011 budget. They don't actually see your card, but Pastor Glenn provides them with the bottom line of all the commitments that come in. If you need to get your card submitted, you can mail it or hand it directly to Pastor Glenn. If you still need a card, you can click here and print out a card. We want to thank you for providing this valuable information for us. May God richly bless you as you make this commitment to the Kingdom of God and to TBC.

If you are age 55+, the senior adult group (aka TLC) would like to invite you to a day of skeet shooting and a delicious bar-b-que on Friday, Oct 29. This will prove to be a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to introduce a friend to other friends at the church. Make plans to join us. You can make a reservation by speaking to or emailing Delia.

Village is Coming!
We have a long history of great fellowship with Village Baptist Church, one of our sister congregations from Marin City. They will be with us to lead out in worship on Sunday evening, November 7th, at 6:00 pm. This will prove to be an evening of blessing and praise as we worship together with Pastor Emmanuel Akognon and members of his church. For those who don't know, this is Ida's home church. Make every effort to be present for this incredible evening.

Cafe Night
Make plans to bring a friend and join us on Friday, Nov 12, at 7:00 pm for our next evening of coffee and conversation with plenty of music.

Wisdom
If it (Incarnation) happened, it was the central event in the history of the Earth.
C.S.Lewis from Miracles

| Word of Encouragement Events |
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
Romans 1:16-17
