From the Pastor:

It has been a busy summer full of camps, mission trips and vacations. I am grateful for all that God has done in our midst this summer - decisions for Christ, missions, anointed services, lives that God seems to be drawing to us. Despite a blessed, packed trip to the East Coast, Stephanie and I both feel less of a summer change of pace than ever in our lives. Additionally, our summer was saddened by the departure of Reed and Amy, but we are looking with confidence toward all that God will be bringing us and I am anticipating walking with you on our journey together with God, with enthusiasm, and great expectations.

This fall promises to be rich with our third Somali Prayer Summit, a special service to praise God and seek God's purposes for us in the aftermath of the healing he brought to Ruedi and Matthias last year; a special ordination service, our Thanksgiving service and Harvest meal, and our musical festivals and Christmas program.

ken eakins will bring us three Sunday evenings in October on a series he is entitling "Travels with Jacob."  During the same month Dwight Honeycutt - emeritus Church Historian at Golden Gate Seminary - will bring us four Wednesday evenings on the Spiritual Classics. Chris Chun will lead us in the month of November.  And that just touches the surface.

I thank God not only for every remembrance of you but for the joy of walking with you and the honor of serving you during this new season of our journey with God.  May He bring blessing to what we do.  May what we do be done because of Him and in His name.  And may He find us faithful.

In God's grace,

John

Good News from Camp Cazadero

During the first week of August, nine adults and 18 kids and friends from TBC joined others from the Golden Hills Baptist Association for a wonderful week of fun and play as they learned about God and "Our Greatest Treasure". Read more and view some pictures.
CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST
Please join the adult choir for our kick-off to choir rehearsals and our Christmas music on Saturday, August 28 at 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at TBC. We'll rehearse for a while and then have a potluck dinner together.

The main dish will be provided so bring a veggie, fruit or salad to share. After dinner everyone is invited to the Singleton's home for dessert.

We really need more folks to sing with us in the choir. Come and be a part of this evening and give us a try!
Family Meeting
Be sure to join us for our next family meeting on Sunday, August 29th at 6:00 p.m. It's a potluck so bring your favorite dish to share. This is a great opportunity to join in ministry together!
Family Camp is coming on Labor Day. The dates are September 3-6, 2010. We'll travel to Mount Hermon near Santa Cruz and spend quality and quantity time with your family and friends from TBC. Everyone is encouraged to come. Perhaps it would make a wonderful finale to your summer to be refreshed through play, worship, Bible teaching, and significant fellowship. Speakers are the well known John and Nancy Ortberg. The camp has childcare options for babies and toddlers and lots of classes and activities for older kids  and teens at the same time as adult sessions happen. There are also large blocks of time for parents to be with their kids too. More information is forthcoming.

Check out these videos to see the camp:
