50th Anniversary Sign-up
We are in the final countdown to our celebration weekend. On Friday, June 4th, beginning at 6 pm, we will have a banquet at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael. For directions to the hotel, click here. Dress will be business casual. On Saturday, June 5th, beginning at noon, we will have a picnic at the church. This will be a very casual affair with very little programming. We simply want a time to visit, especially with old faces that we have not seen in a while. There will be special attractions for the children including jumping houses, snow cones, popcorn and a special visit from John the Illusionist. On Sunday, we will climax the weekend with a special worship experience as we prepare to move into our second half century.
We don't know everyone that will be on the guest list yet, but we do know that Tom & Carol Prevost and Ron & Sheryl Sisk and their son Doug will be with us. We are relying on many of our TBC regulars to help in getting the word out to everyone.
Please stop by the table in the Gallery during the next two Sundays (May 16 & 23) to make your reservations for the banquet and to sign up to bring side dishes for the picnic. The church will provide the meat, drinks and utensils. If you are coming from out of town, click here to tell us you are coming.
We need your help in getting the word out to TBC folks from years gone by, please forward this to them asking them to make contact with us? Click
on the "forward email" link at the bottom of the newsletter. Thanks

Finance Workshop Coming
Our second workshop with Asset Planning Ministries is scheduled for Thursday, May 27, at 7 pm. If you have not heard, 49 TBC families have engaged APM's expertise in financial counseling so far. This is financial planning with a purpose. They have helped TBC families with complete financial plans, credit repair, debt elimination, current investment strategies, loan and mortgage modifications. You will have the same access to this expertise at the upcoming workshop.
Planning With a Purpose relates every financial decision to a spiritual decision. Hopes, dreams and goals are the points every financial plan must address in detail before a personal financial plan can be generated. Being Intentionally Successful by understanding and adhering to God's plan for your life and having a written plan is the overall goal.
Remember, all of this is APM's ministry
to us and at no cost to you. If you want to review their website, click here. If you have other questions, see Pastor
Glenn.

A Gift of Love and Encouragement
We have received this request from the leaders of our team in the Horn of Africa and hope that our church family will participate: Our Team of Overseas Servants including Doug & Leda and Alan & Marcie will have a special opportunity to meet together for a week of worship, prayer, training and team building (July 2-8).They hope to celebrate what the Father has done in their lives and in the lives of our people groups; and as we look forward, in anticipation, of what is yet to come.
First, we hope that you will pray for this event during the weeks leading up to the event and each day, July 2-8. Second, as we think of ways to encourage our team members, we would like for them to receive a letter, card, picture or even a DVD message from you - sending them encouragement, love and our prayers. These will be distributed during their Oasis week, knowing it will bring lots of smiles as they receive messages from you.
Will you pray and contribute? Send all contributions to Lenora Kwok and she will forward them. |
English Club Prep
Many of you know that Craig & Beth host English Club at Dominican teaching English to international students in the ELS program. This program is a great way to expand the English skills of the students and at the same time for the church to minister to the students. Have you thought about being involved? A training event is being planned to teach Conversational English. The training is 14 hours over a two day period and will be held at Living Word Chapel in Novato. The dates for the training are May 21-22. The cost is free. If you are interested, please notify Pastor Glenn or Beth right away.

doing most of your banking and bill paying online these days? Are you
not able to make your financial commitment to the Lord when you are
traveling? Did you know that you can set up an automatic donation

Gallery and return it to the office or Pastor Glenn or John Frierson and

Wisdom
Do you consider America and Canada to be Christian nations? Look around, and you'll see the changes in our population and culture. New religions. Increased immigration. Different languages. But do you also see the more than 5,800 people in just the United States who die each day without a relationship with Jesus Christ? Let's change the way we view our multi-cultural world and begin seeing them through God's eyes.
from God's Plan for Sharing
|
|
| Word of Encouragement | Your attitude should be
the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider
equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the
very nature of a servant, being made
in human likeness. And
being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and
became obedient to death-even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to
the highest place and gave him the name that is above every
name, that at the
name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth
and under the earth, and
every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory
of God the Father.
Philippians 2:5-11
