I Love Church No, I'm not talking about Sunday mornings at 8:30 or 11:00. I'm talking about the church. People often mistake what we do for who we are. Remember that the church is not the building, nor the staff, but it's all of us; God's people being and doing everything they have been called together to be as the body of Christ. The church is the body of Christ. I love when we rally together to help each other. I love when we are joined together to pray in an urgent way like we do for Don and Willis and Matthias and Ruedi and Irene and Beulah and Carol and our missionaries all over the world and our children and the list goes on and on. I love when we realize what God has done for us within this local body of Christ and are bold enough to invite our friends and neighbors to come and walk along with us. And yes, I do love when we come together corporately for worship. We are the body of Christ.
When I taste something very special that I like, my taste buds are not the only one rejoicing. My eyes take a snapshot of that dish and my brain files it away to be remembered later. When I receive a compliment or a word of encouragement, every fiber of my being feels a little better. On the other hand, when I stub my toe or get a headache, it is not just a toe or my head that hurts. All of me hurts. My whole body gets involved to make sure we are on the road to recovery as soon as possible. The same should hold true for the body of Christ. Unfortunately, that is not always true. When one rejoices, we should all feel better. And when one is hurting, we should all do everything within our power to take care of our hurting brother or sister. When a need arises, we should all shoulder the load to make the task lighter for everyone. We are in this together. We do together what we cannot do alone. We are the body of Christ.
Have you noticed that the early
service has more people each week? Have you noticed all the extra
chairs that have to be set up for the late service? We are now
consistently at the 250-275 mark in attendance every week. Are we ready
to take that step in breaking the 300 mark on a regular basis? There's
nothing special or magical about the number 300. But what is special is the
growth that is taking place in the lives of people as they encounter the
risen Lord. As more and more people come our way, it is our desire to
be everything that God has called us to be and do as a church. We are the body of Christ.
As we grow, there will be times of joy and there will be growing pains. Are you ready to accept the challenge? What does that mean exactly? Well, we don't have all the answers for that just yet. But we do know that there are plenty of people who are in need of a supportive loving environment, in need of a savior and looking for a safe place where encouraging words are spoken and needs are met and understanding takes place because we are the body of Christ!

Helping Haiti & Chile
While Haiti is still in turmoil, we learn of a devastating earthquake in Chile. You can still pray, give, go and assist in mobilizing others. Through our IMB, 100% of your contributions go directly to the field and are administered by our missionaries on the ground. To learn more about how you can support this long-term effort of recovery, click on this link and continue to pray daily for both nations.

Got Firewood? Very soon we will be cutting some trees on the church property. Would you be interested in receiving some of the firewood that will be available? It is not clear yet how much we will have, so we will make this available to the first five who respond to this request. Send an email to Pastor Glenn and he will put you on the list. We must find a home for the wood before we enlist the tree service to cut it down.

AutoGift Are you doing most of you banking and bill paying online these days? Did you know that you can set up an automatic donation authorization at TBC? Simply pick up an AutoGift enrollment form in the Gallery and return it to the office or Pastor Glenn or John Frierson and we will take care of the rest.

H20: A Journey of Faith
Do you have neighbors or friends that don't come to church? Are you interested in sharing Jesus with them, but aren't sure how to go about it? H20 is a 10-week video series that opens the door of the church and the good news of Jesus in a friendly way. Pastor Glenn is available to facilitate a meeting in your home on either Monday or Tuesday nights. Some groups provide a light meal, watch the weekly video and follow-up with a time of discussion. The whole evening can be done in a couple of hours, 6:30-8:30. These might be the most important 10 weeks in the life of one of your best friends. If you would like to talk more about this opportunity, make an appointment to get together with Pastor Glenn. Want to take a peek for your self, click here to see the H2O intro. Pray about what God wants you to do.

Wisdom
"Love, in the Christian sense, does not mean an emotion. It is a state not of the feelings but of the will; that state of the will which we have naturally about ourselves, and must learn to have about other people."
C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
