| Called to Something More
This Christmas season God unmistakably and indelibly touched our church. The Spirit of God was pleased to hear our prayers and answer them in a way that displayed His goodness, grace, power and glory. Let me hasten to add that no matter how He chooses to do it, God always hears and answers our prayers and His goodness and grace is always involved. Nonetheless, I believe when God bestows supernatural miracle and blessing upon a community there is an accompanying responsibility not to squander it but to be changed and empowered by it. Miracle is given not just so that life can continue as it was before, but so that faith can be encouraged, community deepened and ministry empowered. We have prayed to see God's miraculous mercy and healing and we have. Now may we not fail to give God glory, be encouraged to be a more prayerful people, and become a more faithful witness to the love, truth and purpose of the God of Christmas in the place in which He has called us. A missionary friend from another church - a graduate of Stanford - shared in one of her reports from the field of an aching tragedy that had come to her life. But, then, she added:"God delights in turning the world on its head. Just when we are filled with grief and resignation He does the wildest, most unexpected thing. We call it the resurrection." God has taught us again that His church is a community of both Christmas and Easter people - people who know that God has come to us and recreated us in Christ. As we move toward our celebration of Holy Week and Easter this year I pray that our witness might be more bold, confident, and loving because of what God has chosen to do in our midst. In the Bonds of Christ, Pastor John |

"Doing Less and Encountering God's More"
Gentlemen, start your engines! It's time for our men's retreat. Jamey Lewis has worked in Indonesia for the past 20 years. He is committed
to living an authentic life of vibrant faith in Jesus alongside his
Muslim neighbors and friends. Jamey is a worship
leader and from his own ministry and encounter with the Lord over the past
years, he will lead us to slow down and encounter the Lord in
scriptural story, listening prayer and song. We will also identify and
share personal stories of encountering God. The date is March 26-27 for our 24 hour experience. The cost is $70 and will include steak on Friday and three meals on Saturday. See Dan or Eric for more details.

Meals for Preschool Director If you haven't noticed, the Magtibays are expecting and they live in the South Bay. Could you prepare a freezable meal for Jay & Christine in anticipation of the arrival of their baby in March? Bring your meal in a freezable container to church on Sunday, Feb 28. Christine will take it home to freeze. Since we want to help, this is an easier way to coordinate meals for them since they live in Union City. We are grateful for Christine's direction of the preschool ministry at TBC during the past year. Pray for her and her family during this time of joy and bonding with their second child.

Not Too Late to Help Haiti
It is hard to imagine losing everything. As Haiti will be in recovery for quite some time, you can still give, pray, go and assist in mobilizing others. Through our IMB, 100% of your contributions go directly to the field and are administered by our missionaries on the ground. To learn more about how you can support this long-term effort of recovery, click on this link and continue to pray daily.

| A Blue Harp Production
Please note that Linda Rice will not be performing at TBC on March 14. She will reschedule for another time at a later date. Continue to pray for Willis as he continues chemo.

TBC Opportunities Abound! We are growing by leaps and bounds. Some of you will remember that a little over a year ago, we prayed for young families to come our way. God is in the process of answering that prayer. With those young families comes a multitude of kids of all ages. While we are busting at the seams on Sunday mornings, Pastor Brice is helping a coordinated effort that will help our kids and their parents navigate from preschool through our children's ministry and ultimately to our youth group. Continue to pray for Christine, Stephanie and Reed as they provide leadership with each age grouping.
We share all this to say that you have an opportunity to help us, especially in the preschool and children's areas. Ask God what He would have you do to support these growing ministries. Opportunities include both full-time regular teachers and part-time rotating helpers. We just completed our biannual training and started the background check process for some new folks. If you are interested in exploring the needs and talking with one of our age group coordinators, contact Pastor Brice by clicking here. |

Wisdom
As Christians, we are tempted to make unnecessary concessions to those outside the faith. We give in too much. Now, I don't mean that we should run the risk of making a nuisance of ourselves by witnessing at improper times, but there comes a time when we must show that we disagree. We must show our Christian colours, if we are to be true to Jesus Christ. We cannot remain silent or concede everything away."
C.S. Lewis, God in the Dock
