| Merry Christmas!
Christmas draws together sights, sounds, colors, and smells tying them into a bow and wrapping the preceding year in a package of reflection about what God is doing in our lives. Some may unwrap this gift and encounter a miracle like Zechariah and Elizabeth did in the birth of John the Baptist. Others might open the package and be swept up in a journey like that of the magi, rejoicing in what they've discovered about God as they look into the face of Jesus. And others may wrestle with life adjustments in order to accommodate God's activity - like Mary and Joseph adjusted to receive the beautiful, yet in some ways difficult gift of bearing and raising Jesus, the Christ.
As you receive Christmas, whether in merriment or bewilderment, may you be blessed as you respond to God as Mary did, "may it be to me as you have said."
May God's grace thrill you and his peace fill you this Christmas!

Women's Retreat
What Makes the Heart Sing is the theme of the TBC Women's Winter Retreat held at St. Columba Retreat House in Inverness, CA on January 29-30, 2010. This 24 hour retreat provides a great opportunity to get to know each other better in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and consistently receives good reviews from participants. Space at the retreat house is limited, so register early. Registration begins January 10th and continues through January 24th in the church foyer. Cost is $75 per person, with some partial scholarships available. For more information, send an email to Beth Patel, Janet Prescott or Maggie Arbino. Welcome to our Newest Members!
We want to take this opportunity to say welcome to our newest members at TBC. Eun E. Kim and Anna Sin, both Golden Gate Seminary students, joined by statement. Beth Fort moved her letter from her home church in South San Francisco. Sharon Kane and Buzz Dyer joined the church and will be baptized at a date to be determined. Please get to know and begin praying for these new members of the TBC family. |

God Has Blessed Us
I once stood at the base of a mountain in Cairo, Egypt where a church meeting space was carved out of the rock. Local legend said that long ago when the church in Egypt was being persecuted God literally picked up the mountain and moved it to its current location. God has moved a mountain in my life and I'd like to brag a little bit on God.
A few months ago I showed my brother a flier of a home for sale and said the usual, "wouldn't this be great?" - without any serious thought that we could actually purchase a home in Marin. He responded simply, "why don't you pray and ask God about it and see what he might be pleased to do?" I thought, "what an interesting concept - prayer."
So, Susan and I began praying and from that time forward God has opened every door, removed every obstacle, and fit together every piece of this complicated and impossible development. Nothing is impossible with God. We hope to close on the house December 31. God moves mountains!
One of the deepest blessings in this process is how God has been pleased to shower our family with love and affirmation through this unexpected vehicle of his grace. On behalf of Susan and my family I would like to thank you for helping us purchase a home. When the church approved on Dec 2 to enter with us in an equity share agreement, another major piece of God's provision was realized.
From my family to the Tiburon Baptist Church family - Thank you!
