A Note Of Love
There is a light in you which cannot die; whose presence is so holy that the world is sanctified because of you.  All things that live bring gifts to you, and offer them in gratitude and gladness at your feet.  The light in you is what the universe longs to behold.  All living things are still before you, for they recognize Who walks with you.  As you step back, the light in you steps forward and encompasses the world.     ACIM lesson 156

. . . a light in you which cannot die . . . .a light the universe longs to behold  . . . and as we step back, the light steps forward.  "What does that mean?"  "What does it look like?"  "Do I need to pray harder, meditate longer, maybe a three day fast would be good?"  "I just need to stop doing bad things and start livin' right." "Surely, that will make my light shine through!" And then . . .  "I'll be happy!"

Ah yes, the ego.  It is always the first to respond.  But how could it not, when the majority of our thoughts are geared towards supporting the ideas of separation rather than connection.  It is truly a difficult concept to apply to our everyday lives.

After all, no one in the grocery store talks like that.  They sure don't talk like that at a bank, a traditional doctor's office, or in corporate America.  And I'm not too sure how many Christmas meals, throughout our society, are shared over this type of conversation or even hold the intention that it might be true.

So maybe we could start by taking a deep breath and pretend for just a moment that we don't have to know everything, right here, right now.  And maybe this breath could be the first breath we have taken in a very long time that is free of self judgment.   No pressure to do anything right, no "27 Secrets to Happiness" to follow.  No self loathing because of something we did or didn't do years ago and we still feel bad about it.  Just breathe.

Grace steps forward . . . .

We don't really have to know that this Light in us is real.  We could just sit with the possibility that it is.

Forgiveness steps forward . . . .

We don't have to forgive ourselves and others.  But what if we did, without swimming in the muddy waters of guilt and projection.

Light steps forward . . . .

The realm of possibility makes it so.  Breathing offers space between the thoughts we think.  The moment begins to appear differently, it's shape is changing, it is feeling a little Lighter.   We are growing comfortable with a calm mind.  Mysteries are unfolding, ideas are surfacing, opportunities are expanding.  And all we are doing is breathing and allowing.  Sinking more and more into to the feminine, we breathe and allow the . . .

Truth to step forward . . .

The heart melts.  We give up all that we're fighting for and against.  Possibility turns into knowing.  Confusion turns into clarity.  Worry gives way to peace.  Questions become answers.

We take another long, deep breath.  The "I know" mind is stepping back.  Our path is being lit.  The process is natural and organic.  Our Light is shining and the miracle is that we can recognize it.  It is always there, guiding us, showing us. revealing to us where we want to be, what we want to do, and how we want to express ourselves.

In Light, we find Life.  We find freedom and hope.  We find the courage to listen to our guidance.  We acknowledge our inner struggles and offer them to Spirit that we may be healed.  We feel the breaking down of old belief systems and the joy of letting them go.  In Light, we are given meaningful perspective.  When we hold the perspective of Light and Love, then Light and Love become our experience.

"And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."  ~ Marianne Williamson
