Northwestern Mutual Selects QuadMed to Provide On-site Services to Employees |
|
A Case Study
Northwestern Mutual has joined the growing ranks of employers who are providing on-site health services to employees in an effort to stem rising costs and improve quality of care and employee satisfaction with their health care services. Northwestern chose QuadMed (a long time provider of on-site services to its parent company's employees (Quad Graphics) and the employees of client companies such as Miller-Coors, Briggs & Stratton, etc.) to manage the service for them.
In the face of a storm of news coverage on health reform at the national level, these companies have found their own path toward health reform, without all the debate and public furor. See full case study. |
HIGHMARK TO OPEN TWO CLINICS, TAKE CARE HEALTH SYSTEMS TO OPERATE |
|
Highmark will open 2 clinics for its employees in Pennsylvania, with the first to begin operations November 6. Both will be managed by Take Care Health Systems (a division of Walgreens) which already operates 375 worksite health centers across the nation. Highmark expects the clinics to save the corporation more than $5M over the next 5 years. Various studies indicate that there are about 1,200 employers now operating on-site clinics.
