Prayer

serene

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;  courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

In Loving Memory of
Lloyd Chapman

Born:  April 20th, 1936
Passed:  December 5th, 2011

Greetings!

Lloyd was a long time member of the M.S.N. and contributed much to the membership during his period of active membership with the group.  For many years served on the Steering Committee and contributed as a Home Host for monthly Scrabble games and Pizza Nights in his new home on Jusnic Circle.  Lloyd always had a warm smile and open arms to his M.S.N. friends and guests for any event he hosted.

The following is the obituary in the local daily newspaper - -

Lloyd Chapman 4/20/1936 - 12/5/2011 Lloyd was a Tucson institution, especially in the music community. An accomplished pianist, he played with symphonies and chamber groups, duets and solo concerts. He taught piano for years, and his students became his friends.

Lloyd was a founding member of the board for the Messiah Sing-In, and sang in the choruses of the Tucson Masterworks, Arizona Opera, and Arizona Repertory Singers.

He served his community by supporting and sponsoring many folks in Alcoholics Anonymous for over 35 years.

He enjoyed the Mens Social Network, and has many friends in that organization.

He is survived by his niece, Janelle and nephews David and Mark.

His friends and neighbors may come to a gathering in his memory on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at his house.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of your choice or to Carondelet Hospice who took such wonderful care of Lloyd in his final days.

Early in my recovery Lloyd would set with me at the Little House and tell me about the history of AA. He inspired me to not only be in the program but to understand why the program worked based on how the early founders practiced the principles in all our affairs. You touched many lives and because of sharing your knowlege our fellowship will continue to not forget those who came before us and always never forget to Trust God,Clean house and Help Others. God bless

Dear Lloyd, I just can't express how much you've meant to me over the last twenty-eight years. There are many 'friends of Bill' in Salt Lake City who have heard about 'the little old blue-haired ladies,' and 'how to keep your windshield clean in a snow storm!'
Thank you for everything you've shared with us all!

The Lord's Prayer Words (traditional)

Our Father, which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth,

As it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive them that trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

The power, and the glory,

For ever and ever.

Amen.

Sincerely,
Thomas Goodrich
