Veterans Day

Lee of Lee and Merlin has once again arranged an outing to the Live Theater Workshop, 5317 E Speedway.

What does a shy Englishman in search of rest do when he visits a fishing lodge in Georgia? In Larry Shue's hilarious farce, Charlie Barker, a proof reader by day and a boring husband by night, adopts the persona of a foreigner who doesn't understand English. When others begin to speak freely around him, he not only becomes privy to secrets both dangerous and frivolous, he also discovers an adventurous extrovert within himself.

"I laughed start to finish at one comic surprise after another."
--The New Yorker

"...a constant invitation to relax and laugh at the foolishness of life...
--Village Voice

The play will be followed by a gathering at the Village Inn at Speedway and Columbus.

Please contact Lee at 207-5336 to attend.

Casas Adobes is having their annual rummage sale the first weekend of November, so our pot luck is moved a week later.

David, George and David - not necessarily in that order - will co-host this event. They will be doing a short Salute to our Veterans and recognize those that have served their country and are Gay. The dominate theme will be the Winter Harvest -- Thanksgiving (Just the first of 3 Thanksgiving events)!!!

As we come into the holiday season, let us celebrate our plenty. Let's see how many vegetable dishes we can make to celebrate our abundant harvest. Meat is welcome, but how about some new recipes, home made or store bought?

Come and join your MSN friends for an evening of unique dishes, great desserts, and companionship!

I know the word "sushi" seems to scare many of you but read the menu--though the specialty is sushi, this is a full service Japanese restaurant with great recommendations and reasonable prices, highly recommended by a pair of our sushi experts. We had a good crowd here several months ago so live a little. Come and enjoy!

IT PAYS TO MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS

I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were shouting, 13....13....13
The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks and looked through to see what was going on.
Some bastard poked me in the eye with a stick.
Then they all started shouting, 14....14....14...................

YOU  GOTTA LAUGH AT THIS ONE.

My Favorite Animal

Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."

She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else in the class laughed.

My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am. Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA.

He said they love animals very much.

But I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.

Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again.

The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was.

I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, just like she'd asked the other children.

So I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken.

She sent me back to the principal's office again. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.

I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am.

Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most.

I told her, "Colonel Sanders."

Guess where I am now...
