July begins with the monthly pot luck at Casas Adobes Church on the first Saturday, July 2^nd, at 7PM.  Davis Palmer will be guest host.  Bring a dish to share and come to our biggest monthly gathering to celebrate the Fourth and the height of the summer season.

Fourth of July Party

Thom Goodrich and Ed Thorpe will be host a Fourth of July party at the Super 8 motel at 22^nd St and I-10.  The MSN Hospitality Room (#116) will open at 2pm.  Come early to get a parking space as this is a spot where many come to view the fireworks.

The fireworks start well after dark but don't worry-you won't lack something to do.

The motel pool is available-trunks required.

We plan to screen the entire second season of "Queer as Folk" followed by the America vs. Aliens blockbuster "Independence Day."

Hot dogs and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.  Please bring a side dish to share.

We will have board and card games available.

We recommend you bring your folding chair so you can watch the fire works in comfort on the patio.

We are in the corner room on the NW side of the building - the optimum viewing area from the motel.

Tuesday Night Movies

Tom and Joe have been involved in many gay film festivals and hope to organize one in Tucson. Both of this month's films are from programs they've created.

On July 12^th, the film will be "Oy Vey! My Son is Gay!" a delightful family film with a serious message.

On Tuesday, July 26^th, Tom & Joe present a program of short gay films entitled "Music and a Little More."  Individual titles are "Ebony Chunky Love," "The Joan's 'Mad at the Dirt'," "Uhaul Rap," "Martini the Movie," "Boycrazy," and "Playing with Gender."

Lunch and Museum Tour

It is time to have lunch.  Let's get together at the café by the museum, Café a la C'arte for lunch on Wednesday, July 20 @1:30PM. 

Following lunch, let's visit the Tucson Museum of Art Arizona Biennial '11 and the other exhibits currently at the TMA.

Our host will need to make a reservation for Café a la C'arte, so PLEASE let Joseph know ASAP if you will be able to come to lunch or not.  Please let me know either decision.

Christmas in July

Up on the rooftop, reindeer pause...but not too long or they'll cook. 

Why should Christmas come but once a year?  On Saturday, July 23^rd, we at MSN attempt to correct this with our first annual Christmas in July celebration.  We're only six months and two days early!

MSN will furnish the turkey and dressing.  We will have a tree, Holiday music, perhaps a movie, and a white elephant gift exchange to go with a delicious dinner.  Bring a side dish to share and a wrapped white elephant gift and join the fun!
