Men's Social Network
M.S.N. Events for June, 2011

"You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby!"

Greetings!

Looks like Summer is well on the way -- those 100 plus days are beginning to show their ugly heads!!!

Our "snow birds" have left for cooler country, as a result turn outs (attendance) will probably be down somewhat at our events, BUT that is not necessary if we all remember to invite those that no longer drive at night or for other reasons may need a ride to an event ASK SOMEONE TO JOIN YOU AT AN EVENT.

Our Theme for this months Pot Luck and Social is "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby" -- we are asking that all members that still have any of their "Baby" pictures, bring them with you to this months Pot Luck.  If there are enough, we may have a "picture contest" at the event OR we may hold off and wait to hold the contest in July and publish the pictures bought this month on the Web Site or by special eNEWSletter.  Lets have some fun with this -- pictures should be from "birth" to age 5.  If you have one for each year, please bring one for each year up to age 5.  (We might do other stages in age if this contest shows interest.)

Below is the Calendar of Events for June - - plan on spending some time with your "family" - plan on attending as many events as interests you.  If you have an event or something you would like to host, please give Davis Palmer a call at 325-4754 or Thom Goodrich at 505-6672, we will help you get it going.

Movie "Patrik, Age 1.5," (2008) Call Davis 325-4754 for more details.

I first saw this movie a few weeks ago and was amazed to find a well made, very human, gay-themed "dramedy."

"Goran and Sven have been cleared for adoption and they have a possibility to adopt a Swedish orphan, Patrik 1,5. But when Patrik arrives he turns out to be someone else, not the little boy they were expecting. A comma had been misplaced, and in comes a 15-year-old homophobic with a criminal past."

The premise may not impress you, but this is a serious film on gay life in upper middle class Sweden with a mixture of bitter truth and a light touch. I loved this film and think you will, too. Let's keep our Tuesday Night tradition going!

(Much thanks to Bill and Darrin for hosting the past several months - we will look forward to their return when the snow gets too deep once again!!!! HUGS TO YOU GUYS!!!)

We are showing the Tuesday Movies at the Far Horizons East Clubhouse, much thanks to Alan Herman.

Davis is planning to host a special event in July - -  here is his message:

CHRISTMAS IN JULY (Party and Social)

All--

Start thinking now!

Thanks to Alan, we have the Far Horizons East Clubhouse the evening of Saturday, July 23 for what I hope will become an annual celebration.

I have a turkey and will make dressing.  We need at least one more turkey (or another main dish).  I can supply Christmas music and movies.  Do we want to do a White Elephant gift exchange?  What decorations do we have that can be put up and taken down fast?

Your suggestions are welcome.  Let's make this into a big deal.

Thanks much,

Davis - 325-4754
