SECOND ANNUAL SPRING PICNIC

Last year we had a very nice, well attended picnic on the east side of town at Aqua Caliente Park.  Due to road construction on the east side route, this year's picnic will be at Christopher Columbus Park on the west side of town.

This is a beautiful park with a lake, model boat lake, dog park, model plane port, as well as picnic table, ramadas, restrooms and parking.

We have Ramada # 7 reserved for all day.  There are two tables under this ramada.  It is handicapped accessible.  A WC is close at hand and a full bathroom is not far (@ Ramada 6) Our picnic will be from NOON to 4:30pm, OR until park closing for those who want to stay longer.

Columbus Park Silverbell Lake

From Grant Road turn RIGHT (NORTH) onto Silverbell Rd. until you reach the park entrance, on your RIGHT. (Approx. 3 miles).

OR, driving WEST on El Camino del Cerro (this is Ruthrauff Rd on the east side of I-10) to Silverbell Rd.  Turn LEFT (SOUTH) onto Silverbell Rd.  Proceed on Silverbell Rd. SOUTH for approx. ½ mile to the park entrance, on your LEFT.

Take the FIRST RIGHT inside the park.  This paved drive will wander around the park and end at the parking lot close to our site (RAMADA #7).

Mike and John have agreed to bring their gas grill, so we will have hamburgers and hot dogs cooked on the grill.

Joseph will bring hamburger patties and hot dogs.  We will include veggie burgers and veggie hotdogs for those who do not wish to eat meat versions.

Larry will bring an assortment of canned soft drinks, ice, and cups.

We will need:

Hamburger and hot dogs buns

Accompaniments for hamburgers-lettuce, pickle, onion, etc.

Accompaniments for hot dogs-relish, mustard, diced onion, etc.

If one person will commit to each of these three, then anythig else will be great sides to go with the hotdogs and hamburgers.

Some suggestions:  iced tea, salads and veggies, desert??, plates, napkins, forks, anything else that strikes your fancy.

Long range weather forecast is for sunny to partly cloudy, so we should have great conditions for our picnic.  Bring a lawn chair if you like and join in the fun and food!
