October 2011: Message from the CEO
SKB at Desk

Samira K. Beckwith

President and CEO

One of the greatest accomplishments of Hope's volunteers is creating special moments and comforting memories that will last a lifetime.

Our "Personal Treasures" is an extraordinary way of expressing our compassion. Hope's volunteers create warm keepsakes from articles of clothing of those in our care, and give them to family members at their request.

The cuddly bears in the arms of the children in these photos were made from Grandma's sweater and shirt. They now have a very special source of comfort as they remember their grandmother.

Someday, their own children may be cuddling these same bears and learning how they came to be.

As volunteers, the legacy of your work will last for generations.

Thank you for all that you do.

Artist In Residence

Needed In Cape Coral

Hospice House Cape Coral is seeking an on-going, weekly volunteer to be an Artist in Residence.  You will work with patients, families and visitors at the house under the supervision of our art therapist, Tricia. Artist in Residence volunteers should be comfortable with art materials, willing to be experimental with art, and able to encourage others to be creative. It is also important to engage patients and families in an art activity. You do not need to be an expert artist. We need someone who is enthusiastic, non-judgmental, encouraging and fun! Contact Nina Tomasello.
